Sorry to hear about your day liR. The bit I put in bold told me most of all. Have a hug.
Thank you.
I feel better now. Bit confused and concerned.
What to hear the punch line? Because of doozers sterling work yesterday I should be able to go and have a lovely lobster bath and relax now. But........because the new broken thing included my blood pressure I cannot. :rotfl:
I think its all a plot to stop me having a hot bath.
(Edit out details..)......?0 -
So many NP having such a horrible time.
Hugs to lir, Doozergirl, Nikkster, Gen, GDB... :grouphug:
Hope I haven't missed out anybody else who's having troubles.
In trivial news... I have given up waiting for Helpful Builder to come back and finish levelling and turfing the garden, and have assembled the trampoline anyway, with the help of the bloke next door. It's perfectly reasonable for me to expect the bloke next door to spend ages helping me with it (the tricky bit is the enclosure, not the actual trampoline itself, which is easy) because his kids will get about as much use out of it as mine will. I've just told him they're welcome to use it even if we're not there.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
You need to let the other guy know what the cost of tonight is - even if it is just passing on the extra pay you have to pay to cousin.
Without some change it sounds as if Doozer is teaching him it is OK to take advantage of Doozer, which will one day result in a bigger falling out.
A friend has a second home in Cyprus. They have let another good friend use the villa and car regularly, three or more times a year. This has manifested into the good friend treating the villa as their own and making "their" weeks available to their wider family. Recently they were pressuring the villa's owners into not going as their daughter, her partner and two friends wanted to go at that time and the villas owners can go anytime. These generous people have said no, and that they need to rethink how they share/make available their second home on a more formal footing.
What Spirit said.

That's astounding! I don't know how anyone thinks that sort of thing is okay.
I don't think Doozer has that switch that recognises when people push too far. He's just happy to help and is confused by my reaction to these things. We don't have a holiday home and I've just made a mental note that if we could afford one, we still won't! :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Just be careful they don't invite their friends and family and suggest your DKs don't play on it because yours can do it anytime!!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thank you, lostinrates. That was a lovely thing to say. I shall isolate your post from my ranting and show himEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hugs to Nikkster
Thanks for the hug. I needed that!
I'm really not suffering that much - you guys just get to hear all of it as there isn't anyone else here to whinge to. Whatever more I might like out of life, things are infinitely better than they were just over 2 years ago. And I'm sure there is plenty I could be doing to help myself.
I'm sure my nail will grow back. Should have gone for that gel manicure! :rotfl:0 -

I'd be really upset about the nail too. It looked so perfect other wise.
I'm glad we are here for each other to moan to. I think it keeps the rest of our lives much more sane!0 -

Definitely, I dread to think how much more of a lunatic I'd be you lot weren't here.
I made a bit of a rash decision earlier and have gone for hot pink nails instead of purple. The nail polish didn't look like it would match the shoes as much as I thought it might, so I thought I'd just go completely different.
Green dress, purple shoes and pink nails. I think I'm going to be a walking talking version of 'When I am an old woman I shall wear purple' :eek:0 -
'nother survey question folks (sorry to be a pain:o )The Homebuyer Survey and Valuation Report
A Homebuyer Survey and Valuation (HSV), also known as a Homebuyer’s Report, is a survey completed to a standard format set out by RICS – it’s most suitable for conventional properties built within the last 150 years, which are in reasonable condition.
It doesn’t detail every aspect of the property, and only focuses on urgent matters needing attention. It’s not usually suitable for properties in need of renovation, or if you’re planning major alterations.
An HSV includes details of:
The general condition of the property
Any major faults in accessible parts of the building that may affect the value
Any urgent problems that need inspecting by a specialist before you sign a contract
Results of tests for damp in the walls
Damage to timbers – including woodworm or rot
The condition of any damp-proofing, insulation and drainage (though drains aren’t tested)
The estimated cost of rebuilding the property for insurance purposes
The value of the property on the open market. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
