Cheapest mobile for use in Bulgaria

I am going to Bulgaria and will need a mobile phone to use to make calls and text within the country while there.
I won't need to call the UK.
I have an unlocked phone but it is not a smart phone.
I would appreciate any advice on which is the cheapest way to do this.

A local sim is usually the cheapest option. For alternatives see MSE article
