    You can get a 2 bed flat in the City of London for less than that! It'll be interesting to see how much it sells for.

    frankly for over half a million interest only at 6% your talking about £32,100 a year rent to the bank, im betting even in london that would get you a nice hotel room for a year at longstay rates.

    Staircases like that are not grand they are dangerous particularly when one is slightly merry.

    BTW quick search on rightmove for a 1 bedroom house in the same area revealed a place going for £225,000. It does need some upgrading though but is not a shack. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-14922479.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

    I think that manky dishcloths hanging over the oven door is a good luck charm for many vendors. It does seem to work. I am planning to leave one in all of my properties from now on :D

    Ha ha! And a really cheap looking mirror in the bedroom too!

    Having said that, most of the people that buy places like that are working too many hours to care too much about what it looks like!

    My stair case is just like that and I can assure you that it didn't make my very modest property worth more than half a million.
