Can a grand staircase sell a house?

I don't think so.

This place must surely be a contender for the most overpriced sh1thole award.

you're right - it is an absolute sh*thol*. unbelievable - a one-bedroom property for the £535k. something is amiss in this economy of ours! and no, the staircase ain't 'grand' as far as I'm concerned.

I actually cant believe that price.

In all my years of perusing sites like that, I have never seen a more overpriced pile of bricks in all my days.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

That is so far wrong. It's not even a grand staircase. It looks like any other wrought iron staircase.

A good rule, when selling a house would also be to take a decent photo. Especially if you want over half a million and another £20,000 for HMRC.

    Bahhh fiddlesticks

This property is clearly overpriced and doesn't indicate anything about the market. First-time-buyers just need to look harder that's all and put some bloody effort in.

Below is a great opportunity for starting on the ladder. A snip at 120K, easily affordable for a young couple. If they cut down on the all Ipods they buy every single week, they'll have it up to scratch in no time and likely double their money :T

I just dont know what you are talking about, that place looks like a snip at that price, period staircase, bracket on the wall outside from when it was a pub, reclaimed timber (pallets) bookcase crammed into a corner of the basement doubling up as a study (or is that what you have to to to get into the study, double up).

Oooh oooh its got a flagstone floor too.

Hells bell what more would you want with this place, pah to you ponces who say maybe more than 1 bedroom, fooey to you fools who say maybe off road parking, garage and jooey to the jerks who would want it at a price less than 28 times local average earnings.

I dont know, you lot, you just want it all............

20 times? Unless you work in London, there's no way average Brighton salary is £27k.

I think they are just greedy/deluded, looking at the site, it's a private sale, so they've picked the number out of thin air.

you could get a stair case like that for about £2k from a salvage yard.

frankly for over half a million interest only at 6% your talking about £32,100 a year rent to the bank, im betting even in london that would get you a nice hotel room for a year at longstay rates.
