Three want to charge me £104 to cancel within my 14 cooling off Period !!!
Hi All
I noticed that Three were £5 cheaper than my current provider (Tesco).
So i rang them and signed up to a £12 month sim only contract and they stated if i was not happy etc i could cancel withing 14 days, they also stated their T&C are on their website fot me to read (I did not).
I then rand Tesco and asked for my PAC code and they offered me an even better deal so i said i would stay with them.
I then rang Three who stated there would be a £104 termination Charge asi had put the sim in the phone and received a txt of them and it showed i had i used 60021 bits of data.
I literally just put it in my phone for less than 1 minute to check it was unlocked. !!!!!
I then rang Tesco and explained and they stated i was covered by the DSR- Distance Selling Act etc and toring them back which i did, but they said since it had been used it does not apply...
Anyone clued up on this or am i stuffed ???
It looks like 3 are the ONLY company that operate in this manner
Thansk

If you used the sim I don't see how you can return it under the DSRs0

Costly way to find out if your handset is unlocked. Look on the positive, you are saving £5 month from your original deal.0 -
Cant you say your not happy with signal, you cant test signal untill you out it in the phone0

It's in their t&c. I don't like it, but you can challenge in court or swallow the costs for the contract period.
You should always try a new network with a £10 PAYG sim so your point about testing it worked isn't really a goer.0 -

Three give away free PAYG sims on their website if you want to check coverage.

You could have course have called Tesco for your PAC before contracting to 3. Requesting a PAC doesn't committ you to using it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Three have always worked this way, the DSR rules try to emulate the shop experience of looking and touching something when you use online shopping, its never been a test period, although many people see them as such..0
