Thank you so do you not think with Simpsons with the high fat content in the meat in the 80/20 premium the. COllie would get fatter? I want to get it ordered while I still have some lilys to swap with lol so if it's not the senior it's the 80/20 or one of the sensitive ranges? God confused lol0

The only way to know is to try it. Simpsons 80/20 is available in 2kg bags so it's not going to cost a fortune to give it a go.
As RFTA says, I would avoid anything with maize/corn in it.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Thanks yes ur right,no point buying the small bags though as we weigh in once a month so would need a big bag for both of them0

If you're going to try the 80/20 make sure you introduce it slowly over a period of a week or two, it's a very different food to Lilys & could be a shock to their systems if you suddenly switch.
You will also have to give it a good 4-6 weeks before you know whether it's ok for your dogs (or not)Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Hmm I've only got about 5 days of lilys left, whys it so different ? Much more meat?0

Twice as much meat, nearly twice the protein, more fat & less carbs.
It will take them time to adjust.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Lily's Kitchen have a holistic vet (named Holly if I remember correctly) who is available to customers for brief consultations at no charge...may be worth contacting her and seeing if she can make any recommendations about what ingredients to look for/avoid.
Lily's Kitchen food is absolutely fantastic, but as everyone has pointed out, it's also phenomenally expensive. They do make wet food, so you could look at mixing that with the kibble to see if that brings the price down, or as others have mention, track down another high quality wet food to mix with the kibble.0 -
hi, ive got a couple of 2k bags to try and swap over slowly
ive gone with simpsons lamb and potato for the spaniel as i think the grain free helps keep him slightly calmer
and burns alert for the collie as the main object at the moment is for him to lose weight and i know this has worked for quite a few people
one interesting thing, my pet food man said that im still feeding him too much even though i have been reducing the lilys on their advice by 10% a week he was still on 300g a day, they started him at over 400
He said his collies even when doing agility only get 150g a day that seems very low but we need to lose at least 5k to help his shoulder0 -
Lily's Kitchen use real meat, not meat meal like a lot of other foods which is why it's good, but also more expensive. There are a few other similar foods, but they're not cheap either - like Naturediet, Orijen, Acana.Hmm I've only got about 5 days of lilys left, whys it so different ? Much more meat?
I've found https://www.petmoneysaver.co.uk to be handy for finding the cheapest prices for Naturediet - they list Lily's Kitchen on there too.0
