    Hi guys

i thought i better mention this if you have been taken in by loan wizard on their website they give you a number to ring for customer services dont waste your time emailing then i have 15 times and it leave a comment that a member of the team will contact you with 24 hours they dont i havent had any response from the 15 emails i have sent them. My refund tracker which is a facility on your account it just says we are processing its be over two weeks nearly i still havent received mine? but what i wanted to make aware to you when you ring the customer service number they will answer the phone and say LOANS DIRECT i had to argue with 3 members of staff and in form them this number is what is giving on loan wizard website for customer services, all 3 of them then changed their minds and said admitted they are part loan wizard to we do operate as them. but today the adviser refused point blank and laughed down the phone telling me i have the wrong number.. he said Madam listen to me this is loans direct madam you have the wrong number. but he first said when i gave him my details and before i could ask where my refund was he spoke first and told me that they had received my refund request and we didnt take any money in the first place and is that it? is that what u rang us for? I said yes u did take £69.85 from my bank account its here written on my bank statement on the 3rd of March loan wizard!! he laughed and said madam this is loans direct not loan wizard i told him well funny how i have rang this number all week and other advisers have spoken to me in regards to loan wizard refund and even told him their names he claimed he had never heard or even knew these people and put the phone down on me?! who the hell do these people think they are i was fuming!! i had no credit left on my phone to ring back either. its so frustrating big time ur head against a brick wall. i informed my bank but they claimed they couldnt help me even though i sent an email and rang them when i realised these people werent going to find me a lender i told them and made it clear i didnt want to become a member so do not take any money from my account. this was on the 3rd of March and they took the £69.85 on the 7th March. i was told by tsb i need to contact trading standards they need to be aware of this company it needs to be addressed asap. its false advertising because what they claim they will do for you and how its all so simple and have no worries regarding refunds they have not once stood by their policy and procedures. so LOANS DIRECT are part of LOAN WIZARD its their number on the website. i wont give up on this i wont let them do this why should they take ur money? its mine and i earn it what gives them the right to take all that money from every person they have conned by claiming they can get u a loan with in minutes. anther thing is they say dont worry we will take the member ship fee with in 62 days thats rubbish they take it when they have the opportunity too!! and give u no prior notice they are going to take the money thats wrong too as it says it on martin video of what lenders are not allowed to do it says they have to give u at least 2 correspondences to make u aware of the transaction they will be making. LOAN WIZARD failed to do that. it makes me sick to the stomach. but when u are in a serious situation when u dont have a penny to live on u do these things out of last resort but it doesnt pay off it just makes matters a lot worse for people like us. its so wrong what they are doing.

one very unhappy and fed up mrs rant today. :-(

i have i have done that over a week ago they sent me a link via email to fill in the refund request form and sent it to the address below which i reluctantly did as i new it would be a waste of time! but ive had nothing back only the fact that on my account which i told them to cancel in the very beginning which they said they cant cancel until i have received my refund? as i might change my mind before then and use some of their solutions and lenders they recommend. which i never gonna happen! and it says on refund tacker "thank u for ur refund request we are now looking at your request and is being processed. complete and utter crap!! they told me several times on the phone that its so quick u will have refund with 24 hours that a promise! its all done on line so they told me there is no number to contact head office on who deal with the refunds. blah blah blah utter rubbish! ggggggrrrrrr!!

Why not write your own letter now?

You are not going to get a refund if someone else requests one for an unrelated account.

I didn't have to scroll anywhere to see the fees. Maybe you were using a phone or tablet.
  • yeah was using surface pro and just mailed letter recorded delivery to loan wizard uk1-3 wyndham street bridgend CF311EF.

template letter edit this to suit your needs and send by Recorded delivery.!

    [Your Name & Address]

    [Date]

    Dear Sir/Madam

On the [Date] I made an application to your company for a loan of [Amount]. I have a copy of the agreement which was signed and sent back to you. The [Fee Amount] administration fee was paid.

I would like to ask that you refund my administration fee minus £5 which by law is all that you are entitled to keep.

I would at this time remind you that Section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 provides that a credit-broker may charge no more than £5 for his services if the consumer does not enter into a relevant agreement within six months of an introduction to a prospective source of credit or hire. If the broker has already charged more than £5 for his services and section 155 applies, the excess must be refunded to the consumer upon request.

As I have never entered into any relevant agreement the above applies and you are lawfully bound to refund the original administration fee, minus £5.

Should you fail to do so, I will have no option but to report your company to the Office of Fair Trading to whom you are licensed by.

You have 21 days from today in which to refund the requested monies. Please make any cheques payable to [Your Name]1-3 wyndham street bridgend CF311EF template letter
  • I haven't requested any loans or anything like that recently , I am unemployed and receiving assessment rate ESA while I challenge an ATOS decision regarding my battle with depression . My benefits were supposed to be in my bank account on Friday , I was told that my sick-note had took an extra day being processed so I had to wait until today for it to clear into my account .

Needless to say I feel horrible since I couldn't afford to buy anything for my mother on mother`s day , but I checked the bank early hours to see that my full amount had been paid , and £69.95 had been deducted , I panicked and tried to call the Bank to talk but it was far too early to get a response ....... I called back a little later to find that £39 had also been removed , a total of £108.95 sucked out of my measly £144 .

I phoned the bank at 7:00am and asked why this money had been taken , I was told that two payments had been authorised to LoanWizard and MyFinance .

I am unemployed , I have not been looking for loans , I was expecting my money anyway .....

So I was passed on to Santander`s famous Fraud team ......... I was mumbled at by a random guy who sounded like he had literally just rolled out of bed , he muttered something about 48 hours then said he was sending a form out for me to fill in and send back . So I hope ...... I hope , he was referring to my money being available within the next 48 hours as £108.95 is an awful lot of money , especially to me .

I had nothing to do with this company ......... and going by some of the things I've seen written on here this morning they are nothing more than back-alley extortionists. How they got my card details , let alone my security number is beyond me .... this card has only been used on Amazon and Xbox Live ....

For the record , I am no rocket scientist , but I`m also not the type of guy to pay £69.95 , then £8.99 per month to be a member of any website what-so-ever .

Whatever has happened , my card is now blocked and hopefully I will have my money back within the next couple of days ..... fill in the form , send it back .... then what ? .... is this Santander`s problem now or will I need to do 90% of their paperwork for them and give them a belly rub for doing their job ?

You need to take an objective view on this too as the bank are doing.

It's somehow ironic that companies like this not only completely guess the correct card number, but they also manage to guess the correct card number of someone struggling financially. In other words, they guess the card details of exactly the type of customer who signs up with them, every time.

If it is indeed fraud, the payments will be refunded. Part of that refund includes signing a legal disclaimer that you did not authorise these transactions.
If the company challenge the refund by producing a signed (electronically) document which included your details (even down to the IP address of the computer used if neccessary), then a rocky road awaits.

Not authorising a transaction is not the same as not being aware of it or not reading the T&C's as a box was checked to say the applicant understood the fee was being taken.

The Direct Debit mandate makes it simple enough to recover money, it would be normal to get the refund before signing the disclaimer.

Santander are never at the top of anyones customer services list but this isn't their fault at all.

Notonmywatch, can I just ask is there anyone else in your house who could have used your card details and applied for the loans, maybe call the loan companies involved and see if you cna find out the account details or simply state you didnt apply for the loans/go via broker sites.

Nah , I live with my parents ..... no need for either of them to do that.

I had nothing to do with the sites at all , they just randomly took money from my account . The Santander Fraud Team told me I don't need to do anything since I have had not contacted them in the first place . It`s basically a case of waiting for the Fraud form in the post now , and praying that Santander will credit the deducted funds while they investigate .

I have been sent an email regarding a membership to LoanWizard , an un-requested password reset email that went directly to my spam folder - no way am I even attempting to sign in to that account , as curious as I am .

I searched my recent messages and I have received no confirmation email of this account being created .

Who ever this is they really did a number on me , email - card details - god knows what else they`ve got on me . Now I need to get a new E-mail account too since I'm being bombarded with bogus loan advertisements and its my main email address for Xbox Live / Amazon .
