SKY TV Package 50% offer

Hi
I was going to leave Sky at the end of Feb after being a customer for 11 years. In the last 2 years I had 50% off the full package, in Feb I was told the best discount was 25% off and if I left Sky I could not or anyone else in the household could re-join for 12 months.
I agreed reluctantly to the 25% discount as I was not in a contract and could always cancel at a later time, at least I would not be charged the full £57.00 rate in the meantime.
To my amazement a few days ago I received a leaflet via post from Sky stating that if I came back to them by 20th March I would get a 50% discount for 12 months, no contract!!
I demanded a call back from contacted Sky and spent 53mins on the phone, being run around the system with advisers stating they could not help, it must be a mistake!!
Persistence paid off and they eventually agreed to apply the 50% discount to my account, using the code they had issued to me!!
Hope this helps, don't get fobbed off!!
Cheers

Check you monthly bills. That sounds to me like they got fed up with trying to convince you otherwise and, eventually, said what they knew you wanted to hear just to get you off the phone (I am a little surprised they didn't hang up on you, that seems to be a frequent occurrence).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

You can rejoin Sky anytime, it's only if you want new customer deals (and equipment) that you'd need to remain cancelled for a year or more..richpickins wrote: »I was told the best discount was 25% off and if I left Sky I could not or anyone else in the household could re-join for 12 months.0 -
Yes I will check my bill, I hope they do apply the full discount as I gave them the special offer code. They keep on about the calls being recorded so it will work in my favour if I need to contact them again.
