Govt Energy Refund

Can anyone clarify the position re the £50 refund the Govt announced Consumers would get at the end of last year.
Are Suppliers obliged to pass this on?
Co-operative Energy advise they have removed the 'ECO cost', (Is this the Warm Front Levy of £12?) 'with no plans to amend fixed tarrifs'. They fail to respond to my request for clarification!
Is there anything Consumers can do to ensure Suppliers pass the savings on?

Scottish Power and some other firms have decided that instead of passing on the Government 'rebate' for those on fixed tariffs they will pocket most of the money themselves. - Disgraceful!


At least British Gas and a couple of other firms have done the decent thing and passed all the rebate of their customers - including those of fixed tariffs.


I suggest you put in a formal complaint to the ombudsman; and write to your MP.
