Hi all I am new to this site and would be very grateful for some advice. Today I parked in a parent and toddler bay at Asda in Hulme, Manchester. I know I shouldn't have and never normally would do, as I have young children myself but I suffer from IBS and desperately needed to go to the toilet and that was the first available parking space I could find nearest to the store entrance. Upon return to my vehicle I found a Parking charge notice under the wiper of my car saying I had to pay a fine of £70 which would be discounted to £40 if paid within 14 days. I did make a purchase at the store but don't have the receipt however I'm sure I could obtain a bank statement if required. Should I ignore the notice until I receive a letter to the registered keeper or should I appeal online straight away? any help would be greatly appreciated, kind regards jmr301984.

Welcome to the forum! Your post now has its own thread.
So let us know what happens when you do as the NEWBIES thread advises. COMPLAIN to Asda Store Manager - NOW - and wait for the NTK then appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You received a ticket on your car. Are you the registered keeper of the car?0

Thanks I will complain to the store Manager asap. Yes I am the registered keeper of the car, kind regards.0

Should I complain to the store manager personally of via a letter? Thanks for your response it's much appreciated!0

Best is in person, much easier to apply pressure. But if he does cancel it make sure you get some sort of confirmation.0

I phoned the store in question today but could not get hold of the store manager. Its an hour and a halfs drive away from where i live. If i just wait to get the letter to the registered keeper, and then put an appeal in, will this affect my case? kind regards.0

That will be fine. Stay here and follow our templates and you will win at appeal anyway.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks
When I appeal what grounds should I appeal on? After all I was parked in a parent and toddler bay so was wondering what my defence would be? Sorry I am a total novice at all this, and can't find any similar cases on here they are mainly people overstaying. Kind regards. 0
