Am I the only one who doesn't agree with this statement? the OP has said the wife is offering a prize in exchange for votes? the OP however is not offering bribes.
But the op is in the lead and isn't an active mser and has come on here to ask for votes as well as discuss the unfairness. That is gaining an unfair advantage over the others that haven't, I was really impressed by a story which had 3 votes, which I gave my vote too on it's merits.
Some could say op coming on here and saying what she said is gaining sympathy to put her in a bigger lead than what she has, the stories aren't being judged on merit obviously which can never be done by public vote as it always comes down to who can ask who and who has a big friends network.
I entered 1 voting comp and never again totally nightmare.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

She is also on Twitter tweeting Wakefield local pages, Whisky bloggers, etc and asking them to RT her link to vote for her... If the competition organisers see the methods outlined in the OP as being underhand, I wonder if they'd take the same view of people tweeting links to local media outlets and asking for RT and a vote?
I do think her writing is good tbh, but I think she may come unstuck
It appears she also fails to see the irony, which is in itself ironic in an aspiring writer...0 -

Does anybody know the title of the Canadian entry ?0

I agree with other comms,
You have now gone down the same route as the canadian by asking random people to vote.
Technically should you both be disqualified?
I never enter any vote for me comps, as just check out the hardcore FB compers - the reason so many of them have 1000+ friends is for this reason (and for linking comps from their fb etc)
Which is why i hardly enter any of these crappy blogs run by compers, also sites that 'enter' for you are also a con as they are run by compers, and every person who enters through their links in some comps they get an extra entry..
P.s
I would however rather see a British person win any comp.
In her defence she did say to vote if you like her story,I did so have voted,I did read a few of the other stories and much preferred hers, maybe If I had read them all I would have found one I liked better but don't have the time.Paying people to vote is definitely cheating and they do not deserve to win.0 -

There's nothing in the rules about paying people to vote, so it isn't cheating.
Anyway, the OP probably just invented this scenario to get sympathy, and votes, from the gullible.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -

This comment I find troubling, no need to spell out why
Nothing troubling about it, simple British based companies who are after British customers to spread their word should allow only british entries.
I think that mainly due to the amount of FB companies who are quite small but trying to make a living and if someone wins from thousand of miles away then its not going to get them alot of new business.Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0
