Holiday with teenage daughter

Looking to book a holiday in August but would ideally like a two bedroom apartment self catering. We don't really like all inclusive as like to eat at local tavernas etc. Finding it really difficult to find somewhere that suits us all ie. not too loud and lively for us but enough going on to keep 15 year old daughter happy! Also near beach, with swimming pool as keen swimmers.
Want to fly from Stansted but will consider any destination but not too expensive....up to £2500, bearing in mind it is peak prices 😒
Any recommendations or ideas welcome.

To get a reasonable deal in August, look at booking everything yourselves rather than a package, and look at going late August if possible. How long are you going for? Is the £2500 budget just for flights/accomodation or including spending money while there?
Usually best booking flights early as prices tend to go up nearer the time.
Would you consider driving eg to France and staying in a static caravan on a campsite? Some excellent ones in France and Spain.0 -
Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately can only go 31st July, or 1st, 2nd Aug for 2 weeks. Budget can be more if ticks all boxes, cost just to cover flights and accommodation. Have done France camping in past and enjoyed it but don't really want to do that again.
Main problem is finding 2 bedroom apartment. Even been to travel agent this morning and they have struggled to find anything with two beds, apart from one place in Alcudia which gets terrible reviews!
Surely lots of families take their teens on holiday and want separate rooms so there must be something out there?!0 -
there's loads of 2 bed apartments which you can book direct with owners on many websites like ownersdirect, homeaway and holidaylettings amongst many others and loads cheaper than through travel agents who think 4 people can cram into a pokey one bedroom place and charge a fortune for the privilege. We always go to spain in august and book our flights in May/june time for round about £100 each. I always look at what's available accommodation wise and then book the flights before booking it as there's always lots of places to choose.0

Ryanair have some good fares to Bordeaux, hire a car and book some accommodation on the Arcachon basin or LacaneauPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Wasn't talking about "camping", but staying in a static caravan or a chalet on a campsite. These usually provide more spacious accomodation than hotels/aparthotels and no difficulty getting 2-beds or more (we usually book 3-beds with having a teenage boy & girl). Usually excellent facilities and often right on a beach. Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately can only go 31st July, or 1st, 2nd Aug for 2 weeks. Where are you looking? We've stayed in loads of 2-bed apartments all over the place, also 1-bed with sofa-bed in lounge (would that do?), never had any difficulty finding them. Check on booking.com and the likes.Main problem is finding 2 bedroom apartment. Though the problem might be that you're going smack bang in the middle of the peak season and accomodation then does tend to fill up early. We're going around the same time but booked back in mid Jan and even then a lot of places were full.0 -
i'd agree with checking ownersdirect for a 2-bed apartment - there are loads out that that you can book, even in peak time.0

If you're looking at package holidays try searching for 4 adults and one child and that should bring up which properties have two bedroom apartments available. You can then change the number of people, but be aware that the likes of Thomas Cook etc often specify a minimum number of adults for the 2 bedroom apartments.
I did find a decent looking option on Thomas Cook:
Destination Turkey
Resort Turunc
Accommodation Viverde Hotel Loryma
Rating 4*
Board basis Self Catering
2 bedroom apartment for 2 to 5 people (also superior 2 bedroom option available)
Departure date 31 Jul 14
Duration 14 Nights
Price was £2106.48
Discount £147.45 (if booking through Tesco Compare)
Price £ 2063.18
The hotel has good reviews on Tripadvisor and seems like something a bit different with various activities on offer. It's not on the beach but the hotel has a free shuttle.
If your daughter would be happy sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge it would definitely open up much more choice of destinations and hotels.0 -
Is that price per person or for all 3 of them? It sounds very good value for a peak package if it's for all 3, but a rip-off if it's per person!
