Flight Delay Compensation THOMSON refused due to a previous flights delay

Hi All
New to this so hoping it will help!
Last August 2013, our flight was delayed over 3 hours and I decided to use the form on MSE and claim for the compensation.
I've just received a refusal letter from THOMSON which states that having checked their internal records (which are therefore not public so I can't check) we are not valid.
This was apparently due to a previous flight of theirs being delayed due to weather conditions which had a knock on effect for us.
They claim this is categorised as 'extraordinary' circumstances which they had no control over, but whilst I know weather conditions are deemed as 'extraordinary' I have no way of knowing wether this previous flight did have such an effect on ours or anything else about it.
Does anyone else have any experience of this or were they on the same flight?

Any advice is much appreciated.

There is a Thomson thread. Have you looked there?
