Never needed to use it, a quick check on the Barclays website would probably answer your question more quickly. Or use their Live Chat from the Premier section (you dont need to be premier to use it but you get answered much quicker)

I think its a 100k limit online but dont know. Ultimately there must be an unlimited method somewhere to be able to do house purchases etc

If you have a Barclays Platinum account they waive the CHAPS fee. It's not a premier account but an old one they upgraded people to, might be worth checking

If it's sat in the current account, move it to a savings account, send your cheque, and shift it back to the current account the day before 'T+2'.


However, and although I've suggested the above as a possible option, on a £100K transfer I'd be inclined to pay the £25 for CHAPS.

Yes I don't mind paying the £25 chaps as long as it is for the whole 100k I don't wan them to say there is a chaps limit of 10k for example and have to do 10 chaps transfers of 10k each and pay £25 every time. I cannot seem to find anywhere the chaps limits

That's really strange, because I've just googled "CHAPS limits" and the second hit (from "1,790,000 results") is a link to the Barclays FAQ section...

Very strange can't seem to find info anywhere must be possible else how to ppl get on who so these transfers much more often than I would need to

Can I send 100k from a Barclays account to a santander account all over Barclays it says there are daily limits you can transfer by faster payments 10k per day I want to send 100k is there a daily limit with chaps payment or not?
