Hi, I want to send someone an old game currently on a CD, how would I do this without actually sending them the CD?

The easiest method is probably going to be make a disc image of the CD and upload it to somewhere like dropbox.
You then send them a link, they download the image and burn it to a CD (or use something Alcohol120 as a virtual drive to "mount" it) and go from there.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Old game or new, isn't it still copyright infringement to do this?0

It all depends, it could be shareware or freeware.0 -

Even if it's a new(ish) game if you've got to buy a copy just to get the licence key (for those that need it), surely you'd still need to get a licence key (and pay for that)?
To me it's just getting a copy of the install CD in a different manner.
Happy to be corrected though.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

If there are no issues due to Copyright;
Using ImgBurn(download and install. Take note to not install the Toolbar by removing the relevant tick), then look here.
Once the image has been created, you can upload it as suggested. Perhaps to Mega. Then you can generate a link from the upload and send that to your intended recipient.
They can download and then recreate the disc by looking here or they can 'mount' it, as suggested above.0 -
Hi Googler do you automatically assume that everyone who requests advice on how to take a backup or get an old game from someone is acting illegally?
I feel sorry for you, you must have a hell of a guilt complex if you think that everyone wants to do something illegal..
Another Q not for Googler how do I make sure I never see any post made by Googler again?0 -

maybe because most of the time it is actually illegal.
it does depend on the game, but most, old and new have some form of copy protection on the cd's.
to make a backup would require breaking this protection, which is against copyright0 -
Would it be easier to copy it and post it to them?.0
