Some charities will take furniture.
Also, a lot of areas have a furniture scheme which collects stuff and resells cheaply to people in need.0 -
I've never failed to get rid of anything on Freecycle/Freegle, so that would be the way I'd choose to get rid of the stuff. People tend to come really quickly to collect stuff, often same day, but usually within a day or 2 if they need to arrange transport. There is always somebody needy out there for most household items & it's nice to know they are not destined for a landfill. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
cheers for all the replies. Hopefully this moving house thing will work out in the end - its proving to be rather stressful! Spanners in the works etc but hey ho getting there now.0

Previous posters have mentioned the places I can think of......but....I'm looking for an ottoman / storage chest / bedding box if you're looking to get rid of one.0

Many charities offer free collection. We recently parted with some old furniture to British Heart Foundation. At least it's going to be used. Second hand furniture is worth very little.0
