Virgin Media Cancellation

Hi
I recently moved to new address and I have been with Virgin Media more than 6 years ,
Virgin media couldn't provide me the service for in new address ,

They send me the final bill and I have charged about £10 each month for rest of the contact and some more extra for cancellation which is total charged about £85 on top of the bill just for cancellation .

I did told them that this not my fault for they can't provide me services in my new address , they said this is not our fault too and go and read term condition in the website , B&& SH&& T

any help ? thanks in advance ,

Sam

It's far more your fault (you're the one moving) than it is theirs!

You've obviously moved during the minimum term of your contract, and as such you are being charged an Early Termination of Contract (ETC) fee.

There is nothing you can do except pay the bill.

Although you say you've been with them for 6 years, it seems that you must have changed your contract within the last 12 months.

    Sorry, but it's not "unfair".

I assume the £10 a month for the rest of the contract period is much less than you would have paid if you had continued as a customer? You do realise they are within their rights to charge the full amount of the subscription?

It's not 'unfair'. You contracted for the service at your current address. Not at every other possible address in the UK. If you move to a non-cable area within minimum term, then VM will charge you an ETC, as you are breaking the contract.
Do a forum search and you will see that this comes up almost every week-but the answer does not change.
