I don't know but I'd suspect, like cheques, it's the banks using another opportunity to make cash by using it for themselves for a few days

As its been mentioned before its just as quick to get it back as it is to take it off, they just quote a few days to cover themselves incase of weekends etc.
  • You seem to have two complaints.

    1. Delay in money returned. Having used my debit card at Tesco for the past four years, I've never had money taken out of my account on the same day i paid them. It always takes a few days. The bank you must use, OP, is amazing and faster than the banks the rest of us, and Tesco, use.

    2. Refund only to debit card. This isn't a Tesco thing. M & S also need the same debit card as paid with to give refunds, or they'll offer gift vouchers (as found when returning something for my mum without her card).

Therefore, the problems here are not with Tesco. They are industry wide policies, which many of us are used to and accept. Sorry, chuck.

I'm surprised we haven't had something along the lines of "I went to Tesco today, it rained and I got wet in their car park . It's all their fault"
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    I know!

What about "After being married for five years my husband/wife told me that he wanted a divorce and is moving out. The thing is, I had been using Sainsburys and Asda coffee for five years and on the day my husband/wife told me she/he wanted a divorce I had used Tesco branded coffee".

What are my rights? Is there any compensation? I paid for it by my credit card, are they responsible too?

I once walked past a Tesco in London. As I was walking past I couldnt help but to read the big lettering saying "Buy one get one free" along the window. I wasn't looking ahead and I ended up bumping into someone who eventually fell over and cracked his head open.

Anyway I queued up in Tesco CS and told them that I wanted compensation for the trauma that I had caused through them. The staff were being so rude, kept rushing off to help the person whos head had cracked open - TOTALLY IGNORING ME (MEMMEMMEMEME). Anyway I wrote a letter to Sir Terry Leahy. Still waiting for a response and its been 2 days!

I think Tesco should pay up and apologise to me and the person who I bumped into. They should also pay alot of refunds and compensation to me.

I think its disgusting how they behave.

I will now use a supermarket with smaller lettering on their windows, which DONT cause uneccessary attraction.

BTW should I tell the Trading standars and the Advertising commision?

because your bank want's to make some money on the money going into your account for themselves before they give it back to you. Same thing happens for cheques, where if we were in Sweden it would be back in a couple of hours...
