Sorry but most of the issues you raise are what I'd consider very minor. Delays happen happen on every airline. If you were dehydrated why on earth didn't you get of your seat and get something to drink from galley? Emirates are not responsible for your onward travel from Heathrow.

Your request for compensation in light of what happened is entirely unreasonable IMO as is your expectation that an Emirates manager should deal with issues like FA's forgetting to bring you a watch to inspect from the duty free catalogue. My suggestion is to lighten up on future flights as minor hiccups invariably happen and your attitude towards them greatly influence how disruptive they are/will appear. Also note that the FA's primary role is to ensure the safety of the passengers on board, it is not to serve as personal waiters.

Thanks for the helpful response! I am not looking for monetary compensation, read the thread! And yes perhaps I would if our trays weren't on our tables and I wasn't by the window. Again, thanks for the response but I am asking what to do next in the form of a complaint as I am gettig generic responses, not for your judgement of what I should have done, I, again, paid for a service and did not receive it.

That's not what you said to Emirates though:
I am very disappointed with the service we received and subsequently ask for compensation and a formal apology.

You then go on to mention your monetary loss twice.

Exactly how much are you looking for? A bottle of Evian?

Personally, I never fly long haul back from holiday and go back to work the next day. I always make sure I have enough time to rest for at least a day as I don't sleep on planes and also to allow for delays and unforeseen problems. Perhaps this might be something worth considering when scheduling important business meetings if you're not prepared to pay to fly business class.

You'd think with the extra 2-3 hours in Dubai airport you could have bought some watches there, rather relying on them being available on the plane. Just saying.

You'll be pleased to know the Montine one is only £24.99 on ebay and the Credit Suisse is about £100.

You bought a flight from a - b - so you got the service you paid for, what you didn't get was an elevated quality of service you have come to expect of Emirates.

If you are looking for recompense it comes down to the delay, how long it was and if its clamiable under the new flight delay rules.

You have already got in excess of someone who complained about the food, you had buses provided for you to get home - this was in excess of the obligations they have towards you and have been factored in by Emirate CS in their reply.

To be quite honest you are being unrealistic in your expectations. I appreciate that you had a bad experience, and it has somewhat taken the shine off your engagement but if you look at it more objectively you will see that you are asking too much of emirates to offer you anymore than they already have.
Firstly you were delayed, this meant that you arrived in Dubai later than expected and missed your connecting flight. Obviously this was an inconvenience and there's no denying that, but the other issues I fear are due to this delay and your annoyance rather than anything else.

Whilst you were waiting in Dubai you could have called ahead and informed your transport that you were going to be late and re-arranged it. You had a reasonable wait, and with a 9 hour flight still to go there's no way your transport would have already left. You could also have paid for a taxi on arrival at Heathrow to get you home quicker if your meetings were that important. You chose to book meetings the day after a lengthy flight, personally I would not have done this anyway so again this is not emirates fault.

The poor service isn't good, and shouldn't have happened. Emirates do try to provide good service and generally they succeed, I do believe the airmiles are a reasonable compensation for a poor service.

You do ask for financial compensation for your loss of earnings in your original email, so you need to be clearer as to what you actually want from emirates? If you are not happy with what they have offered then write back and tell them, and ask them for what you really want. But be realistic. They will not reimburse you for a loss of wages, nor will they offer your free watches or reimburse your flight costs (not that you have asked for that either though.) They may increase the airmiles to say 15,000 or 20,000 if you are very lucky though.

    EK3 landed at 18:49 and EK5 at 20.07

so the delay from travelling on the later rather than scheduled flight was 78 minutes

contract with the airline ends at LHR so the fact that your onward travel took longer is unlikely to concern them

you are expecting more than £10 per minute for each minute you were delayed?
you would not qualify for that even if it was an EU Airline that was delayed over 3 hours
