Spoke to them and got my compensation, thanks for all of your unhelpful replies.

You want over £800 compensation for a delay of less than 2 hours and because you couldn't buy some duty free??0

Wonder what they charge £55 an hour for?0

Doesn't make much sense. Was it Colombo to Heathrow as stated by you or Bangkok to Manchester as stated by them?travelover0

Home at 3am and you couldn't attend work?I would if I was earning £55/hour - you should use your £100k worth of salaries to fly with another airline, plenty of choice.
As for no tea and coffee - sorry, but if you had left out the 80% of emotion and stuck to the 20% facts you might have got a bit more, a little, not a lot more though.0 -

How many hours late were you beyond the original arrival time? From what I can work out you were delayed by 2hrs by emirates and you took the bus from the airport - did you not consider asking to use a phone in Dubai to call and delay your travel to Bournemouth?
The day after your engagement doesn't change how you should have been treated, or how you should be treated now. Thats the sort of emotion that just doesn't help your case. Its like saying 'the day after the day after Christmas - you should have known!' Its a pertinent date to you for sure, but it doesn't change anything for emirates (or any airline).
26 hours travelling, 14 flying and no sleep, despite delays in airports? Come on, there was the opportunity to rest, you didn't. Had it been me with important appointments I would have made it, no matter what.
I won't send my CV if you don't mind, I'm very happy where I am thanks.0 -

I am also confused re the missing work / meetings
your scheduled flight was to Manchester and landed 18.34 then you would have had a 230 mile journey to Bournemouth
your eventual flight landed in Heathrow at 20.07 then you had to make a 95 mile journey
so you arrived 1 hour and 27 minutes later
but you had 135 miles less to travel at the other end
is the time you got home not then the same time as you would have got home from Manchester?0 -

If you need water and the crew are not about you get off your backside and go to the galley. Same with tea and coffee. You'll get your drink more quickly and get a little exercise, a win win situation.
What you describe is a pretty average flight. I fail to see why you expect £825 for minimal inconvenience?0
