DLA to PIP

I have been on DLA for almost 10 years - having been given a "INDEFINITE" award of mid range care
I received a letter this morning from DWP that made a big thing of the benefits rise this year - going in to great detail about how PIP won't affect me at all - in fact, I could get more
Then on the last page (of 8) - it mentioned that on 8th April 2014 - I will be receiving PIP !!
I thought that only certain areas of the country were on PIP and that was a massive failure - I hadn't realised that everyone, currently on DLA was being converted in less than a month.... ?

According to that - from Oct 2015
Why are they saying April 8th 2014 ?0 -
Are you saying that they are just migrating you to PIP without any form filling etc?
If so that would be good for those of us with Indefinite Awards. Thought you had to reapply for PIP ?0 -

I was under the impression we were "invited" to apply for PIP, which seems to be what the letter that came with my DLA letter with the 2014/15 benefit rates says.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -

So when you are "invited" do you have to go through the whole assessment process all over again ?
I was under the impression it was a new claim, but the OP seems to be saying they just got moved from DLA to PIP.0 -
By the sound of it, yes. 20 weeks before your award ends, you get sent a form to apply for PIP.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

The OP is not the only person to misread the annual uprating letter. There's an example of that letter here - I don't see anything on page 8 implying PIP will be paid from 8 April 2014, the date for annual uprating of benefits.
Nobody will be moved from DLA to PIP without undergoing the PIP assessment process in full. Reassessment from DLA to PIP will not start until October 2015 for those with lifetime, indefinite or unexpired fixed-term DLA awards unless they report a change of circumstances before then.0 -

I'm higher rate DLA, indefinite for 5 years so far. I have had the recent letter about the increase and whatever and that maybe in 2015 I'll be looked at for PIP but that seemed to be a very general non-specific to me comment.
pmlindyloo has kindly put up the DWP Timetable, but it seems to bear little resemblance to reality. The area I live in started converting, allegedly in 2013, so I have no idea.
But I will ask this of anyone who has converted from Higher Rate DLA to PIP - did you actually have to see them?
The reason I ask this is because I am on ESA Support Group and as I said, Higher Rate DLA indefinite and my wife gets carers allowance, this has been for 5 years now and my various conditions have either stabilised or are still deteriorating.
I have never, ever seen anyone ever. I have never had an interview or powered a wheel into a DWP office.
No they haven't forgotten me they know full well I exist and where I am. So I've always assumed this is because I am so blatantly ill and immobile, with a few specialists and the GP reports obviously, that it seems they haven't bothered me.
The question is then, is anyone else like me and if so have they bothered seeing you or just converted you over?
Thanks and pm me please if you don't want to talk about it in public
(There's some really nasty little bullies on here I've noticed already... it's a real shame... hence I stick to pm a lot myself now)I am not offering advice, at most I describe what I've experienced. My advice is always the same; Talk to a professional face to face.
Debt - None of any type: Bank or any other accounts? - None: Anything in my name? No. Am I being buried in my wife's name... probably

When hubby was given DLA it was "lifetime". I know this is no longer taken into account so rung DLA and was told they would be in touch in due course. Apparantly no-one is turned over automatically0

Thanks for that
But I am not sure if that was the case as such with the DLA, was the rule then with DLA that 'we see everyone' yet not everyone was?
It strikes me they are falling so far behind we'll almost certainly have a different government before hardly anyone is seen and the goal posts may well shift again.
