Thanks honey, but I have brown hair, and a 1st class degree. I run a business (well one woman show) that I love, and also run OH business as he is not very focused. I have raised 5 kids with no support who are all great... On elite I allow myself to be who I used to be before life became a reality! xxxxx

That's it you tell him and well done.:D

    Good Morning all :D

    Good morning everyone :)

Woke up this morning with a headache, probably due to worrying about my bus lane fine which I've appealed. The photo they sent me shows my car so far away even I can't recognize my own car! My appeal is based on my belief that I changed lanes immediately before the bus lane after some other cars had overtaken me.

Has anyone here ever appealed motoring offences before, if so how did you get on? My biggest worry is that they have 15 days to respond to my appeal whereas if I don't pay £30 within 14 days of 11/3/14, the fine goes upto £60. It's all in their favour  I want to fight it because of the principle, just worried this might end up costing me double what it could have

I appealed a parking fine, which was successful, I sent an email explaining the situation and had an email response pretty quickly.

Mr monkey also appealed a parking fine for not showing a permit  this was also successful, although this took longer than mine the standard payment letters still arrived after the initial 14 day period.
I'd appeal like you said but keep chasing for an answer nearer the 14 day period. Hth:)

I appealed two fines some years back.

One was for illegal parking, issued within five minutes of an illegal parking fine I'd been issued two miles away and paid.

Phoned them up and the bloke burst out laughing and said "Oops! Beam me up, Scotty".

The other one was for being in a box junction. I sent the council a letter claimng my car was in my workplace's locked car park under CCTV surveillance. They cancelled it and said there was an error reading the plate.

I'd always challenge it if you can.

I was relieved I got away without a fine last month for going through a red light to let a speeding ambulance through. Specially as I read afterwards how fast patients deteriorate on the journey.

Bubbs you don't need a landline for Samba & watching a video (to get credit) it doesn't use up your data if you're connected via your Samba SIM (http://help.sambamobile.com/Faq/Answer/58) but would if using your normal connection.

If you are somewhere with (free) wifi you can log in to your account & watch the videos. Each video you watch allows you to view approx 10 pages or send something like 30 emails (it does say somewhere on their site). They have double data days fairly regularly (each video earns 2ce the data). This isn't for you if you want to download things, but it's useful for say looking on here or whilst in a hotel that charges an arm & a leg for their wifi. Credit doesn't run out so you can build it up regularly for when you need it.

If you get someone to refer you you'll pay £2.50 instead of £5 ;) as a 1 off fee & you'd also need a dongle. Sometimes they have better offers than this, but not that often. You can top it up (pay for xxmb) but I have never done that (this credit does run out after I think 30 days).

    P

The other main alternative I'd say is Ovivo with a 1 off £20 charge (£5 admin fee + you'll get £15 of credit on the SIM if you reach your monthly allowance). They piggyback on Vodafone. Go for the tablet SIM & you'll get 1gb data a month. They say the ads are not intrusive & don't appear very often, but I'd disagree. Using apps (if you are actually using it in a tablet) is fine but looking at MSE I get the ads come up every 3-5 pages. You then have to wait 5 seconds on that page before you can click continue. If you can put up with that it's great. Go via a cashback site. Also currently you'll get a Cineworld ticket so you'll be well on the way to bringing the cost down (if you buy by 20th March). No doubt there is a thread on here, but this is the HUKD one http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ovivo-mobile-now-tcb-buy-freedom-0-data-0-bundle-for-a-one-off-fee-20-potentially-1842170. They do spam you a bit with their offers so you may not want to use your main email address. I think you can combine it with a referral ;).

That was a good post. I have the ovivo sim in my iPad . It is a bit of a pest with the adverts popping up when you are n t connected to your home wifi eg but they don t last long and it s worth this to get it all free. I bought mine when it was £15 but still a bargain as a one off fee of £20.

The Doves went through at £2 each.

But MSM is down so shall I wait before I do the comparison ?
