It's a lovely badge to wear.
Thanks, you ELITE are so nice. I have learnt from you all about wombles, TCB and that complaints about less than tasty food from A and T gets a voucher or two. Even the APG, it's quite hard to do, but saves some cash. And, of course, I am a night shift fan!0 -
Good morning. Lovely day here today. Have washing on the line, kitchen all cleaned, Sunday lunch all ready just to cook and a massive pan of lentil soup cooking ready for lunches next week with glitchy Ciabatta bread and it's only 1/4 past 8. Now what's next? Ah yes, a cup of coffee and a catch up of the night shift. Have a lovely day.0

This is interesting, how food banks run - I wondered if they had national rules or each one had their own set f rules. I seem to think I read somewhere that Jack Monroe took a year to get her referral and that the max number of visits s 3.
I also seem to think you needed a referral from a doctor or social worker ....???
You said you wrote three paragraphs but what happens for families who have educational or language problems - do they get help writing their applications?
In both our main stores near is there are collection trolleys at the end of the tills so its easy to pop some extra bits in the trolleys as you leave the stores.
QUOTE=TrulyMadly;65048996]I was at our local food bank yesterday. They put in some extra goodies as it was for a family with a little boy.
Unsure if you are all aware but it's not easy to access food parcels....I know some people think that for some families it is a free for all. It isn't.
You need to provide DOB, post code, reasons for needing a food parcels and it's not enough just to say"ran out of food". You have to show exceptional circumstances. I wrote 3 paragraphs. You cannot return again unless circumstances have changed.
The parcel I collected contained rice, pasta, pasta sauce, milk, frozen bread, Smart Price cereal, tuna, tinned veg, sweets, tea bags, tinned meatballs. I added to it a bag of fruit and veg and toiletries:cool:
Dad cried when I turned up with it:o[/QUOTE]“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
