I tried to donate some of the Jacobs crackers about a month ago, but they wouldn't accept them because they only had a months date on them and not the required 6 months :(

What - they need 6 months before the best before to accept them? One month before a best before isn't good enough? Lots of people need things and at that rate they'd never been accepting anything.

    That's ridiculous isn't it?

I eat stuff weeks out of date:rotfl:

In fact I rarely eat stuff in date:rotfl:

I thought the same. Crazy, if they'd have given them to people they probably wouldn't of even lasted a month but there you go!

Yep.. 6 months preferably longer. I was stood there with a stack of at least 20 boxes and had to turn round and leave with them

I had frozen chips, sausages, rolls, haribo, glitchy cake, cucumber, Haribo, Flump, Maoam, bag of sweets, coleslaw, loose onions and superglue. Even discounting the glue it would be 12 totally normal items :) so no idea what went wrong. It must be a glitch if the same thing happened to rose28454 as well :(

Rolls - which ones? I assume two different Haribo? Bag of sweets might not count, depending on which it is. The glue doesn't count. That could be only 9 items or the Maoam may not count?

totally stupid they could have just given them to the next 20 people who would have been very pleased.

I've have thought that included "10 different items", zippy:p.

But some items are not grocery and some may be kiosk items and excluded? Remember that items such as newspapers are not items. I assume 13 items of general grocery were bought. What exactly did you buy Dormouse?
Have you not just asked the same question as me saying post your items. I could see that 13 items were bought but something has gone wrong which I suspect would not happen to someone more used to the system

I was at our local food bank yesterday. They put in some extra goodies as it was for a family with a little boy.

Unsure if you are all aware but it's not easy to access food parcels....I know some people think that for some families it is a free for all. It isn't.
You need to provide DOB, post code, reasons for needing a food parcels and it's not enough just to say"ran out of food". You have to show exceptional circumstances. I wrote 3 paragraphs. You cannot return again unless circumstances have changed.

The parcel I collected contained rice, pasta, pasta sauce, milk, frozen bread, Smart Price cereal, tuna, tinned veg, sweets, tea bags, tinned meatballs. I added to it a bag of fruit and veg and toiletries:cool:

Dad cried when I turned up with it:o

Yet again I think we can forget how lucky we all are ;)

Sorry, I had to edit my post. It was just one Haribo. Rolls were T cheapy brand hot dog rolls, and sweets were Maoam bag for £1. (So it was a 10p Maoam and a bag of Maoam. My kids really like Maoam :D)
