I need your advice, oh wise ones :)

Did a small T v A shop with the glitchy cake and a few other bits I needed, expecting a few quid back. Well, I didn't get any PP back, or a spit saying what I've saved. I got 13 different items so it can't be that. Checked the receipt online and it says my results are not ready yet - what is this??? It's never happened to me before!:(

    Hello again:).

I ought never do Sat. afternoon shopping - it's just too hectic and too many people around, although I don't have agoraphobia. But people and their trolleys blocking the aisles - all queuing up at one point, chatting to each other, with their trolley in the middle of the aisle, and not noticing me:(. I'd already gone round the back, to avoid bumping into a man in a wheelchair and to get back into the aisle. But me and my clumsiness - the people eventually moved their trolleys after they clicked in that I might just actually want the item on the shelf that they were blocking with their trolley and their own bodies and then...slam... my trolley right into the wheelchair:eek::eek:. Big (automatic) sorry.

Just too many people around, standing chatting.

I went to Mr T also - to spend the exact 78p amount of the "promise" from last time. T's had already thwarted me earlier in the week - I wanted the 50p swede (quite big if you get the right one) and they put the price of the Malt Loaf up (28p to 40p - and the SELs said 40p:mad::mad::(). They do read this thread.

I ought to have made up the 28p by going for (28 items) the Valentine and Xmas stuff, some storage boxes, the 500ml flask and the £8 Pentels essentials set that were going through at 1p earlier in the week. Couldn't get to T's all week:( and, by the time I do manage it, it's either all over or impossible for me to find. They never (seem to) have any of these items in my stores - must be huge ones in really big conurbations. Really I need SFSB and aau1 to come with me to T to get these. I could have spent over two hours searching, checking, scanning, returning back to the shop floor when it went through at full price, finding something else, scanning that, checking/returning again, but I took the easy way out and just got a swede and the 28p dressing strips.

It took me about 10 minutes. I was being pushed into going today as the swede offer apparently ending soon and probably lost again on the dressing strip as although T's is 10 and A's is recorded as one, A's 28p version probably compares vs Morries at 25p, so lost another 5p to T.

My additional T losses - I make it I lost two hundred and 24 pounds:eek: compared to having got 28 Pentel sets that should have been £8 going through at a penny each. Oh well:( (oh well he says_pale__pale_), it was just simpler and quicker and they didn't get me paying more money to them beyond what they had last time. I know some (lots?) of you here do it more successfully than me at T and you're the ones who should be shopping there, rather than me who just loses every time despite all my attempts - I always end up giving them far more money than anything I get back, so at least I have no PP to entice me back to their money-making extraction and that's now it, the last time I've shopped there (but I've said that twice before:(). I think I'll stick with A, I'm always more successful there.

How weird. Same thing happened to me at 5.30 this afternoon. Got 12 items including 3 lots of burgers and no pp and same message online

Thank you chrisv and savvy for explaining where I went wrong with my apg this afternoon. I think in future I will keep to my more simpler shops rather than trying to get too clever!

In A today, on my first shop, vs Sains., I lost 63p as the shop returned with not enough items, but I picked up a 74p(:() womble.
I went a bit overboard on my next shop though:eek:,buying a bit more than what I should have done. This item, on A r'back at £1, for instance was a risk item to use as a 'filler' (hoping for N/A).

    5 items
on your bill qualify for comparisonASDALogoWhite.gif Morrisons

    CheaperSignBlue.gif+£2.08

    1 x Quorn Lamb Style Grills (2 per pack - 180g)£1.00£2.49:eek:

    Comparison total (compared products only)£9.56£11.64

But fortunately, my shop was vs W. No glitched pricing here, just straight comp. getting rid of some vouchers (and replacing with a new one) - both shows mbuys:

6 items on your bill qualify for comparisonASDALogoWhite.gif Waitrose

    +£4.67CheaperSignBlue.gif
1 x Schwartz Roast Turkey Gravy Mix (25g)£0.88£0.20
    1 x R Whites Lemonade (2L)£1.00£0.65
    1 x R Whites Premium Diet Lemonade (2L)£1.00£0.64
    1 x Bernard Matthews Turkey Burgers (4 per pack - 240g...£1.00N/A
1 x Bernard Matthews Sliced Turkey Breast (7 per pack ...£1.00£1.00
    1 x Nestle Shreddies (750g)£3.38£1.69
    1 x Nestle Bitesize Shredded Wheat (750g)£3.18£1.59
    1 x Quorn Lamb Style Grills (2 per pack - 180g)£1.00N/A
1 x ASDA Chosen by You Wafer Thin Cooked Chicken (155g...£1.00N/A
    Comparison total (compared products only)£10.44£5.77

According to msm:eek:, O has the Lamb Style Grills but W doesn't. And they, and the Quorn Pepper Steaks (not bought on this occasion) appear also to go Avs Sains. at N/A - or supposedly Tvs A on the Pepper Steaks.

I detest shopping on Saturdays after 10am. Far too many people to get in the way

    Evening all

    Thank you TM :T

Ended up going shopping this afternoon with the mother, so off we popped to Marksies...2 x £10 meal deals for the princely sum of a fiver :D

For some inexplicable reason when the chap came over to approve the alcohol I asked him how to put through the gift voucher
I have no idea why I did that, my mouth just opened and out came words :o
He didn't actually know what to do with it and ended up faffing around with the screen until I ended up showing him, but in the process he said 'oh there's a greenredeem voucher already on there' which I then produced from my pocket and said 'oh yes that's this one, I've already scanned it' :rotfl:
Couldn't get out of there fast enough :D

Then into T's and managed to get a couple of the notebooks with the hearts on and an Echo Falls wine set for 1p each, plus a Hello Kitty art set for £2 and some reduced fitted sheets/pillow cases.

    A good afternoon's work :)

    Hi mildew,

    I am such a nugget:o

Prepared a salad and put tray of potatoes with mozzarella in the oven and took chicken out of fridge to come up to room temperature.
Everything was ready and I was just about to cut into the chicken when I realised it was raw:eek:. I thought it was a cooked chicken:o
    Honestly

I've never bought a rotisserie chicken from marksies before and for some reason thought it was cooked:o

Just as well the bendy vegetable soup was tasty:T

  • Evening all

Taken me an age to catch up since 10pm last night :p Had an early start so thought I better have an early night.

OH had the cheek to text me when I was at work asking if there was any washing powder left  He then sent another text 5 minutes later to say don't read the first text, I should never have asked such a question, I found the stash under the bed :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hope all is well :)

 My shops are always (or often!) trying to be clever:D, but they nearly always work! Except my failed one today where 'not enough items' return! I suspect I knew I was only risking a few pence APG - I'll post the details of some of the items and what they should have compared against - unless they were the culprit(s).

R Whites Lemonades in W are on bogo'f', but they do work (today at least), as 2 sep. items towards my theoretical 8. I took a real risk as the SA picked them up together - but did manage to scan each separately. There are only two items in the bogo'f' at the competitor and they work - this is the important bit - as each is £1.29 individually. I only say "today at least" as I am not ruling out the somewhat unlikely possibility that some further item might appear on msm/msl for W in future in this offer and might be a different individual price, thus causing the APG then to go N/A. (Can I be sure the current msm has picked up every item on w.com that is in W's offer?) Just means 'check again thoroughly on msm etc. before doing your shop'.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening all :)

Some good bargains in Ts today. Couple of divine Christmas trees and found some reduced baby food for the food bank- my first Christmas dinner double packs- marked at £1.50 but scanned at 41p each. Dates are well into 2015 and the pots are quite big.
    Debt free 6th December 2014 :)
