Morning. We have just had our 3 bed semi replastered throughout the main rooms. Our plaster advised to leave as long as possible. His recommendation was 2 weeks, whilst it goes light pink at the front he says certain areas behind the plaster are most likely still moist and need to left longer, if the weather improves and lots of natural light hits it, it will take less time.

On a slightly related question I just purchased a 15L Leyland Emulsion for new plaster super Leytex Matt Magnolia from Selco. It was only on for £21.99 (ex VAT) for 15L which I thought was really good price. Says it will cover 12/14m2 per litre.

Was wondering if anyone has used it? and whether it needs to be watered down slightly first?

Would 15l be sufficient enough for a typical semi? 4 medium sized room and a box room is what I need to cover.
At that price it will simply be a very watery emulsion which is exactly what you want, it's nothing fancy, for "paint for new plaster" read "too watery for anything else", :D:D. The key is if it goes on almost transparent then it's gone inand ready for final finishing. Sounds like it may not be enough judging by the quoted coverage if you are doing 4 walls and ceilings in each room.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Did you put a mist coat on first?
I was actually referring to the mist coat.

    Measured out - a 50/50 mix.

I did much searching on what ratio. 30/70, 60/40, but 50/50 was the one that popped up the most so that's the one i went for.
Bought a decent roller (i forget the name. Purdy somethingorother springs to mind i think it was) that was recommended for the job.

It's just a bit rough when running your hand over especially compared to the finish of plaster.
