Hi
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for affordable life insurance.
Just done an online compare the market search but once I completed all the insurance company questions the insurance came out at £130 per month for a joint policy for £170,000 for 20 year term.
Is this reasonable?

What ages are you, it seems a lot. Try with separate cover instead.0

Hi
We are both 47. My husband does smoke. No critical illness cover, just straightforward life insurance policy.
Can anyone advise where to go for life insurance that is affordable?0 -
having had a quick look with those details its hard to see where a premium of £130 would have come from? I would think that as you have mentioned you answered all the insurers questions this may be down to something you have disclosed. Such as medication you take, your height and weight, family history or the specific occupation that either of you do?
Its very hard to be precise without having this information. If it is likely to be something that I have mentioned then approaching a broker which will not cost you anything would be worth while. With the information supplied they can lead you to an insurer who may be less harsh on certain conditions.0 -
Thanks for the advice. It's probably family history. Who knew it would have such an effect?0

That would require completion of an application and disclosure of medical history.
What exactly did you do online?
You may be better off talking to an IFA or protection specialist who can guide you on the right provider for your circumstances.I am a mortgage broker.
