Creative person needed to help me with my jewellery

I'm not sure this is the right forum to be asking this but couldn't decide where else to put it.

I have in excess of 140 necklaces ranging from the thin dainty chain type to big chunky beads to short choker types to long strands.

I will admit to being a bit obsessive but I have been buying them over a couple of years from a local charity shop where none are over £2. Every time I see one and think 'Oh, I have nothing that colour, shape, length etc' I collect.

I do wear them a lot and have friends and neighbours constantly coming to borrow something to go with an outfit.

I'm now stuck for ideas on how to store them. I don't want to just throw them in a drawer and have them all tangled and its easier to see what I've got when I'm ready to go out if they are displayed some way.

I started out with them hanging on a tie rack on the inside of a wardrobe door but got too many, then it was hung on hooks on a cork board but that didn't work due to the weight, then hung along a thin curtain rod but that got annoying as I had to keep fastening and unfastening to get them on and off.

I also tried to keep them in length order, then colour coded, then from delicate to chunky. I've even had a piece of 'wall art' in the shape of a tree and had them all hung from branches.

Obviously as the collection has grown I've just run out of ideas.
I want to use them as a 'feature' if I can rather than just hide them away.

So can anyone come up with an idea please. I've always thought I was creative and practical but I'm stumped on this.
I don't mind how odd the idea may sound, I'm open to suggestions, I like quirky ideas.:rotfl:

I recently did a window display in the charity shop and strung loads of necklaces over the branches of a fake tree we had. It looked pretty but maybe not for home use? It was only about four to five feet high, I used maybe ,twenty necklaces but only because I ran out!
I'll try and think of another suggestion for you.

What about a pin board, something similar to this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Office-Noticeboard-Frame-W900xH600mm/dp/B000I2DS6S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394565209&sr=8-1&keywords=pinboard

I'm thinking white pins, with the necklaces arranged by colour perhaps? You can get them covered in felt too, not sure if they come in any colour other than green though, which might be a bit office.

I'm thinking a couple of attractive bare branches cemented into a zinc bucket! Quite stark but sculptural.

Or failing that, there must be something to grab your fancy here

How about using a 'feature wall' in your bedroom, and cover it in little hooks (such as picture hooks for example) and then hang them off them.

    Thank you for the replies.

Ive tried the pin board. In fact at the time it was 4 pin boards! the only trouble was that if I had hooks or pins big enough to hold the chunkier pieces the boards were not strong enough.

I love the branch idea, its just that Im a bit short on space (necklaces are not the only collection I have :o) so really its better if I can find a way to display on the wall.

Ive actually had the pin boards in my hallway and everyone commented how great they looked but the pin boards were not strong enough and I probably only had about 60 at the time.

Can you get a length of bamboo or curtain pole secure on the wall by brackets or hooks and display all in a row.

This is my solution. Its had amendments since. (And looks a bit of a mess there. I am also just about to get rid of the gold bed head I think, but its going to be a very sad decision if I do even if it does look rather ungainly when its flowers are adrift like that,)

A taller display cabinet would suite your collection better if you go for this!sort of thing. In side my cabinet are necklaces and bracelets only. ( i mean, in terms of jewellery) the danglyness catches the light. Its opposite our bed and we use it as our low level lighting. :).

Don't know your age - but if you google "Blue Peter advent crown".
    Well you did ask......

It was made from coat hangers and hung from the ceiling. If you covered it in ribbon instead of tinsel you could hang necklaces from it in a chandelier type way?
