HELP! Premiere Park ticket. Ignore? Dispute? Pay?

Hey guys,

I've searched the forum but I'm getting mixed messages and I'd really like to try and clear things up. I can't see any info about Premier Park, it's mostly Parking Eye stuff.

I parked in a 2 hour stay Spar car park in Tavistock, Devon for 2.5 hours not realising it was limited. It's done by camera and I had no idea this was the case.

I was waiting for a client who was later than expecting and looking for somewhere to read undisturbed. There were plenty of spaces the whole time I was there and I saw no signs around warning me off so I happily sat in my car for the duration then drove out again and carried on.

Now I find a letter with two lovely pictures of my car and a request for payment by Premier Park. I am, as you can imagine, rather upset by this.

Could anyone give me advice what to do next? If I appeal, will the £60 fine increase if I go over the 14 day limit regardless?

Any advice would be amazing,

Thanks

Good grief - please could you point me to ANY thread on HERE that doesn't say appeal ? I'm getting rather fed up of people saying there is conflicting advice - either you're seeing something I'm not on here or people have lost the ability to read properly !

I too wonder that people are getting conflicting advice.

The stickies regarding parking tickets are excellent and up to date. No conflict there.

    READ READ READ that.

It doesn't matter who tries to scam this money from you.

It's an unenforceable demand. All you want is a POPLA code.

Yep, but that sticky had so much in it that I was confused as to whom and what it was referring to.

I was hoping someone rather that get on their high old Internet horse might be able to simplify things for a mere noob.

The main thing I was asking was does the 'half price' discount charge vanish if my appeal goes over the 14 days?

If anyone would be able to clear that up that'd be smashing!

Yes the discount goes but as you will win your appeal it is irrelevant.

No problem. There are about 12-15 of us here who are sitting by their PCs with little else to do except offer advice to different newbies who wonder if, because their car registration number is not the same as any one else's, can they please have tailored advice specifically to their situation which is, of course, unique.

We all met because we are devoted fans of the film "Groundhog Day" and love to write the same advice time and time again.

We expelled one of the group called Coupon-Mad as she wrote the Newbies thread which meant that we didn't have the pleasure of contributing ad nauseam daily, or even jourly.

However, as I don't want my Groundhog Day membership cancelled, let's see if this helps.

You put in a short appeal to the PPC to get a rejection and a POPLA code.

You then appeal to POPLA using one of the template appeals in the NEWBIES thread.

When appealing, forget mitigation and appeal as "the keeper". Make no reference to the actual event - only appeal on Genuine pre-estimate of loss, no contract, signage and penalty charge.

The forum is littered with such appeals. Here is a recent one that incorporates an appeal to the PPC https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4917697 and a follow up POPLA appeal. The writer did all this by themselves by reading the NEWBIES thread.

Is there some reason why you could not do likewise?

Edit:- and YES the bargain sale offer is withdrawn, but no consequence as you pay nothing any way.

I wish people would just offer advice as well as pointing to another thread! This poster has taken the trouble to post a new thread instead of hijacking one.

To the OP , please read that thread pointed to. It does explain what to do. But to put it to you on this thread, basically you send an appeal to the parking company, use the one in the sticky thread in post #1, don't alter it in any way, just add name, address and date.

Send it off either via mail with free proof of postage from the post office, or via email or online, personally I'd do both. If they reject you can go to the second stage appeal called popla, we can help you with this, so don't do it alone.

We win 100% of the time with forum assisted appeals, the decision is binding on the parking company, so they won't take you to court. And that's it
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Well it maybe Groundhog Day to you, but unfortunately it's not to people that are coming here, it's unique to them, and they deserve more than the replies being given. I advise on here and have for many years, I give people a reply not just a copy and paste like Aldi does on their Facebook page.

Most people who come here are from a google search, I never offer advice to people who hijack threads but advise them to post a new thread. So I am responsible sometimes for these threads because that is what I tell them to do.

The point is, one sure way to drive people away is just generic replies, by not bothering to give an an answer it will mean that we lose people to this scam, and causes us of having a bad mannered reputation. So it is self defeating!

Stroma I am sure people appreciate the help but when a new poster arrives with the line "I've searched the forum but I'm getting mixed messages" then I wonder what sort of search they might have done.

On the very first post of the oft link to thread there is this
"PLEASE DON'T START A NEW THREAD BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT MATCHES YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES''

Seems clear and unambiguous to me.
