What does it become if you take out seats? And crucially, can you leave in 10 seats so you can still use bus lanes?Bedsit_Bob wrote: »Those of us who have been driving for many years, could just take out most of the seats, and drive them on our regular licences.

If you leave no more than 17 seats (including the driver's) it becomes minibus.0

No problem with that - and thank you for helping to pay for my cycle track - which keeps me from having to share the road with crazies, who not only think they pay for it - but own it exclusively.
Only having a laugh.
I'm very happy to share the roads with cyclists, and I have no problem with cyclists not paying VED/Road Tax, or not having insurance or a vehicle licence. Cycling is one of the few remaining areas of life that is relatively free and unregulated, and long may it remain so.
I live in an area with a lot of narrow country lanes, and I always treat cyclists a bit like horses - wait until a safe place, and then pass wide, slow and quiet. Sometimes I have held back for half a mile behind a cyclist until there was a safe place to pass. I have never once had that courtesy acknowledged. Car drivers and motorcyclists acknowledge the courtesy of others all the time, and I think it's a shame that cyclists seem not to.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

Also depends on the weight to whether a vehicle is classed as a "mini-bus" or not.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
I've also no problems with cyclists using the roads - I do though have a problem with them weaving in and out, running reds and generally riding dangerously. Which seems to be most of the cyclists not wearing fluorescent jackets - and the ones that are, they are split in to 2 categories - the ones that know how to ride safely and negotiate the road, then the 20% that think they own the roads and feel empowered by their head cam!0

I do very limited road cycling but when a motorist drives courteously I always thank them. I understand your point, but I don't consider overtaking a cyclist safely a courtesy. Overtaking safely is a basic requirement for all road users.I'm very happy to share the roads with cyclists, and I have no problem with cyclists not paying VED/Road Tax, or not having insurance or a vehicle licence. Well, I'm licensed up to 12,000Kg, so unless they weigh more than 1.5 times the weight of a Double Decker bus ...
Going slightly OT for a moment, I rather fancy buying a DD Bus, and converting it into a motor home. :cool:0
