Hi all,
I have a tower PC with a spare hard drive slot (SATA) and I want to create a backup drive for my photos and music. The power supply is 700W and is fairly new so seems silly to get an external backup drive.
Looking for 500GB-1TB at around the £50 mark. Can anyone recommend a specific make or model please?
Many thanks

Just one more question - I presume that I need a SATA cable to connect it to the motherboard - do they come with the drives or buy separately? In deep...0

Thank you! The 1TB one for £44 would be sufficent as well I think. In deep...0 -
portable usb is far more use for backup (mobile, quieter, less power hungry, not on all the time, less prone to infection)!!

I recommend you buy one of these type of sata cables, the ones that lock. For some reason mine always come loose.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
They don't come with drives, but just buy the cheapest one for the length you need.Just one more question - I presume that I need a SATA cable to connect it to the motherboard - do they come with the drives or buy separately?
Myself, I wouldn't touch Seagate drives with the worlds longest pole or stick. They are not close to as reliable as they used to be and the failure rate is amongst the highest of drive brands.i would recommend this one seagate seem to be more reliable
