FAO Coupon-mad

Hello. Firstly thank you for all the advice in the sticky. I have waited and today got the NTK - all within dates etc (ive checked is after 28 days etc). I am now using the template which you have very kindly produced using the reasons you have stated (as the sign was not illuminated yet ticket issued at 12:30am in the middle of the night, and also its a free resident carpark so left in the part about loss). Just one question. I cant see in the template about asking for a POPLA code - should I add this on or wait until reply received from UKCPS?
Again, thank you for all the advice in stickys

Well as you only want an answer from Coupon Mad, I won't offer any advice ;)
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Original thread. It is best to keep everything together, so people don't have to ask again questions that have already been answered.

When UKCPS reject your appeal the letter they send you should automatically have a POPLA reference number on it. If it doesn't (and some PPC's do sometimes 'forget' to give them) then you can write and ask for one. But you do not have to specifically ask for one.

The only reasons the template appeal doesn't ask for a POPLA code are:

    - you don't have to ask! It's very clearly a challenge which requires a response anyway, they have no 'wriggle room' I hope. Many have cancelled!

    - the template is written to also suit cases where IPC is used instead of POPLA (non-BPA members who are in the 'other' ATA).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Ditto that coupon...

The initial letter is strong in any case - hopefully to entice a few cancellations. However where the previous templates for certain PPCs/situations worked in a number of cases - this soon stopped.

Should you not receive a POPLA code with a rejection then formal complaints need to be made to the BPA and the DVLA.

Another trick recently seen is that some PPCs are ignoring all appeals and going straight to debt recovery stage - a breach of their COP - so again complain to BPA and DVLA.

Let us know if any of the above scenarios occur.

Please come back to update your thread with the response and post up wording for POPLA appeal before submitting..
