We've just put one of our properties on the market - this will be the first time of selling a property - and just wondered how important a floorplan was to most people?
Personally speaking, when you looking at a property I always like to see a floor plan so I can see how the house/flat is set out.
My EA has put all the measurements of the rooms, in metric and imperial, but I'm wondering if I should get them to do a floorplan too?
What do you guys think?

if you where looking to buy a house /flat and it had no floor plan would YOU view . I think floor plan is expected .The fact that the agent hasnt done one would be off concern . After you put the floor plan in post a link so we can all see and pass comments /advise /be nosy"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

I would not try selling my house without a floor plan and I am much less inclined to dwell on properties listed on RightMove that don't have a floor plan. Would it put me off of viewing a property though? That's harder to answer.0

It never put me off, however bear in mind that apart from the property we're in now, we always bought at auction/near reposession, so at discounted priced, which probably was what influenced the brain somewhat.
To sell, I wouldn't dream of not doing one.

I definitely prefer to have a floor plan available when browsing for properties. However, the place we have just had an offer accepted on didn't have a floor plan - but we could tell from the photos and description that it was somewhere worth viewing.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0

As a buyer I much prefer to see a floor plan. That said we have decided not to view houses based on the floor plan but for those without we have viewed them anyway - and once seeing the house the buyer will decide whether it's for them or not anyway.
 Is there much additional cost to having one?Total money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!
New challenge- save an extra £5000 from non-salary -£1600 (32%)0

Photo's can be misleading, which is why for getting an idea of size I much prefer floor plans with measurements shown.
Obviously Estate agents are sneaky and these can be misleading too, but it would defiantly put me off if a floor plan wasn't included.*Assuming you're in England or Wales.0

If there isn't a floor plan, I worry there might be a really awkward layout or a weird corridor somewhere. Room sizes don't show whether or not that's true.0

There are places, such as parts of Wales, where floor plans are still not easily come-by. If people looking there restricted their viewing to houses with plans, they'd miss much of the available property.
You'd obviously not be at a huge disadvantage selling without a plan in these areas.
If your house has a particularly odd or inconvenient layout., it could also be a disadvantage revealing this on a plan.0

No floor plan indicates to me a more naive seller, that equals a better deal!0
