    Thanks Kwatt I have the part on the way I got it from Dave at Spare and it cost £22.90 including postage. Now I hope it is easy to fit when it gets here..

    No probs, we usually beat the SRP's one way or another. ;)

    Door locks are normally pretty straightforward to change, just unclip the door seal at the front as it makes life a lot easier and remember to pull the plug out.

    My OH was so cross when our washing machine door wouldn't open, he hacksawed the lock off completely and fitted a standard bolt instead! It looked really naf, but it meant we never had any more problems with the washing machine door again (it was a Hotpoint, by the way).

    OH said there was no way the washing machine was going to stop him from getting his clothes out - he just wasn't having it!!

    I have now managed to get the part I believe I need to sortout my door problem. Does anyone know where there some instruction to fit my new part ?
