So there is no medical condition relating to needing the toilet
its simply a side effect to another unrelated medical condition.

There are medical conditions that need require those inflicted to use the toilet more often. It is as simple as that.

The case here is the toilet requirement isn't directly related to any medical need.

Well if the doctor has advised the OP's wife to drink water more regularly, and this has led the OP's wife needing more bathroom breaks. I think they are somewhat related. I am not medical expert, but I usually follow the advice of my GP over people on an internet forum.

Which would be a side effect to an unrelated medical condition.
Perhaps I should have said that before.

But water doesn't lubricate the throat, saliva does, water will however wash away the mucus coating on our oesophagus which protects it from drying.

I can go to the toilet around every four hours at work, I'm an adult, if I need a wee I can hold it, I'm not going to just stand there and urinate, nor would I expect another teacher to cover part of my lesson so I can have a wee.

Not every adult can just 'hold' it. That is the whole point.

As is the case for my wife, so she wears incontinence products, she doesn't expect the right to continually inconvenience others.

I would prefer people being allowed to use the bathroom when needed rather than asking them to wearing incontinence products. But that is just me. I am not really obsessed with how many breaks my colleagues take. I concentrate on my own work.
