Congratulations! Just keep the information to yourselves (if you can!!) or there may be plenty of people who will suddenly discover a reason for you treating them to something ! It sounds the most boring thing in the world to say at this happy time but you may never have an opportunity to get your hands on this kind of lump sum again, so you are very sensible to go the ISA route with some treats as well. at least this way you get to keep your prize for a long time! i am very pleased for you.0

Congratulations!! haven't read the rest of your thread, but £20k is a lovely amount to win. Not life changing but enough to help. if it were me I would use a little towards this years holiday - extra spending or a weekend away and then think about how the rest would benefit e.g if you were in debt (dont know your personal circumstances) I might settle those - If not in debt, would tuck away for a rainy day e.g. Short term emergency fund in case the washingmachine needs replacing or pay for a weekend away each year for you and OH.
As long as you enjoy your good fortune that's what matters.
just read post 67!!! :-))0 -

Congratulations Sulkisu, that's brilliant news. I had a much smaller win last year on a scratchcard and I know what you mean about smiling all the time. It's not so much the money (which of course is wonderful), but for me and my husband it was the fact that something really good had actually happened to us - these things always seem to happen to other people.0
