n power final bill after leaving 8 months ago

hi, just had the shock of a lifetime. Just recieved a final bill from npower, 8 months after leaving. I have just swopped supplier again, from swalac back to npower (what a mistake,as we had left previously because of a wrong meter read and bill and i had forgotten it was npower otherwise i wouldnt have changed to them. :() anyway previously the bill had been in my husbands name, so when i tried to phone and query this bill, WHICH WAS FOR £800.00 , they wouldnt talk to me. On the phone for 67minutes. then we got throught after another 45 min, i asked for ALL my bills from start to finish of contract (14 months in all ) so i could check everything, i repeated i wanted ALL the bills, they agreed to send them out. low and behold i got the final bill only. Had to wait for my husband again to ring them and ask for bills again, another 45 min wait, fingers crossed we should recieve them soon.

i thought they wouldnt allow you to move until final bill had been paid??
I thought we had paid, i know for sure elec final bill had been paid, i know one thing for sure that we dont owe £800.00, as we were paying £115 per month for 3 bed semi with three working adults living there.

Reaso we moved i first place, they said we owed £1200.00 for elec, after 2 visits from them it was decided we only owed £200.00, so we dont trust this company one little bit.
will keep you posted.

  • I left NPower in May 2013 due to their incompetent billing and appalling customer service. I thought I was free of them as paid by DD and had a bill dated May 2013 and a final bill dated June 2013. I vowed I would never deal with the company again having spent hours on the phone to them trying to resolve issues with my billing, unfortunately it looks like the nightmare isn't over and I will again have to waste hours of my life trying to sort out their mess.

Couldn't believe it when I saw they had taken £125 from my current account last week. I subsequently logged onto my NPower online account and there I found an 'amended final energy' bill dated 22 January 2014.

Surely this cannot be right, there must be some limit on the timescale to which they have to provide a final bill?
  • We also left N power in November 2013, we had our final bill in February 2014. In January they informed us that we were owed £560 in over payment, and, after numerous phone calls with promises of payment, still no joy how do we go about getting our money. If we owed them we would have been in court by now

I changed from NPower in May 2013, received and paid a final bill of over £350 in full, then today I receive another final bill of £30 - what on earth?? I will not be paying this, its not my mistake. Will keep you posted on responses but I am really not happy. This new bill is not a large amount of money but final bills are final bills, don't come back for more nearly a year later! NPower please explain!
