I used to check my bank account and 5-6 credit card accounts every single day, obviously seeing pretty much the same picture.
Now I check my bank account a couple of times per week and my cards once a week (only 3 of them now). It's so much easier to be positive when not having a reminder rammed down my throat every day.0 -
Yes it is hard not to get obsessive with it. I think its wise not to let it rule your every waking moment! Difficult to not to mull it all over all the time when your are dealing with debt though, I think. Something I am guilty of. :-)I realised I was a debt free wannabe in January 2014..:o

Just a thought blue_pixie but next time you're up on the hills with your son (and no one else is around) have a scream and let all the frustration go he will think it's a game about getting rid of all the annoyance work/life throws at us but it may help! For me it was riding my bike down a big hill, feeling like I was 10 again (oh and lovely son thinking I was slightly mad!) the older 3 know I am
You'll get thought this I now owe £7340 and will be debt free this time next year you will be sooner so maybe start crossing off the days in a diary till your debt free day/birthday and planning for your future x
Good luck and keep checking in

I have to stay positive for my husband who has depression, my children help a lot as does exercise - even if its just cycling to work. I haven't had the easiest life - its constant knocks but I always have hope and that keeps me going - its the one day everything will be ok thing

Natlie I'm inspired to hear of someone caring for 3 beautiful children and staying strong for an unwell hubby and the whole family. I am sure everything will work out for you. Hold onto your hope. :-)
I cycle to work too, I love it, and it's free :-)I realised I was a debt free wannabe in January 2014..:o

If I could go back in time to when I was 19 I'd tell myself to be positive and not to bury my head in the sand.
I was young and foolish and if I'd bothered to make myself aware of Money Saving Expert at the time I'd have realised I could've spoken to my creditors and sorted my dilemmas out without resorting to a Debt Management Company.
Everyone has different problems and different amounts of debt but the help IS out there and I hope people realise that with some positive thinking it DOES get better.
As many of us know (and I talk from experience) once you've settled those final bills you realise the mountain was little more than the kerb outside your front door! It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
You sound more positive already! There's some fantastic advice on this thread, it's helped me enormously, after all, I wouldn't be posting at 3am if I was having a good day. We all have bad days but the important word is DAYS. tomorrow is a new one and as much as it may bring new challenges it'll also bring new opportunities. Today is simply one day.

Hi!
I have been recently really down about all my issues, but I stay positive with little things. Take a thrill out of using coupons, saving money or not spending any! these are the joys I've recently found. Everyone who knows is very supportive, and wants to help as much as possible.
