I think the renters would do fine until the owners deployed their crack groin thrusting brigade in a rear guard action.

    Homeowners, obviously.

Too much practice of fist pumping and groin thrusting.

Although I hear renters have something called 'the yoof' on their side, who apparently run in packs and can only be defeated by mosquitos....

Depends on what kind of battle.

I suppose the owners on average probably have more money so would be able to afford, uh, battle gear.

Obviously in simple fisticuffs the renters, who must be, what, say over ten years younger in average, would prevail fairly easily.
    FACT.

I think renters would win because they would have nothing to lose. After the renters win they could run into the homes of the homeowners and lock the door and then run to try window and watch the x homeowner waving their fists

    A real intellectual aren't we?
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Seems pretty meaningless point to debate. There's my thoughts.

If you asked me whether the British have an innate obsession with property then yes would be my answer.

well, i certainly don't think it's a very important question.

but, yeah, based on my own narrow experiences renters all the way.

i rented from roughly age 18-26 and owned for the decade or so thereafter.

young me would beat the !!!! out of old me if it came down to it! incomparably fitter & whatnot.
    FACT.

Personally, given unlimited finance, I would buy up all the BTL properties and then not let them.

The rent boys would then be royally screwed.
