Hi maggiesoup- I see you are from Edinburgh- my old home town.

I once got my dad a helicopter flight over Edinburgh as a present for one of his milestone birthdays

My dear partner turns 65 on Tuesday but he's SO difficult to buy for and I really wanted to give a special present for my pension age chap.

He's not into clothes or eating out and doesn't need anything for his flat. The only thing he loves is music but his tastes are so diverse (anything to do with the 60s is always a favourite) that I couldn't begin to guess who he would like to go and see. He has a little music studio in a spare bedroom but its full of equipment I don't even know what it does.(you can tell I can't play a note!)

I have racked my brain for a month and feel like a total rubbish "girl" friend (well, I am SO much younger at 58!)

Any suggestions (keep it clean) welcome :D

Do you know what his first car was or if he had a special car that he liked at one point?

I got my father (of a similar age) an original sales brochure of a classic car he has and did the same for my father-in-law but with his first car that he always talks about. You can get them on Ebay from vintage magazine specialists.

If you want an object do you think he would like a theremin?

The theremin was a fantastic idea unfortunately I left it too late and it would take about 5 days to get one posted to me. However, Christmas is coming..... :D
