Sky/MSE deal - £5 upfront, turns into £30?

Just signed up for the 50% off Sky via MSE.
I went through the Verified by Visa, £5 upfront charge, to credit first bill.
Then I get an email to say thank you for your upfront payment of £30!
I checked my CC and indeed £30 is currently in held funds. So, VbyVisa shows a figure of £5, order says £5, but Sky do what they like and take £30??! Doesn't fill me with much hope they will get the 50% off billing correct now!

Same happened here. They advised it will come off the first bill. Still poor.0
-
And mine was ordered over the phone so it must be a system error as the advisor also told me £5.0
-
Did you call back and ask about the error today or was this a previous 50% deal?0
-
Interesting - this has happened to me as well.
£20 for phone install, £2.18 for hardware postage (broadband) and then this rogue £30.
Ah well - at least its not an underhanded charge and we'll get refunded.0 -
Had an email from sky apologising that they charged £25 extra and that they'll be refunding it. They're also sending me a £25 M&S voucher as a goodwill gesture because of their error which is awesome!0

Ok - lodged my complaint - let's see if I get the same!0
-
I didn't even complain, looked very much like an automated email.0

Yeah I had a long chat to the bloke who was adamant I'd get the money back to my account but I said I want a complaint lodged which he sent off so hopefully it'll come back.
The guy on the phone didn't understand why I would have a problem with being overcharged by £25 before I'd received anything...0
