Samsung Galaxy Updates and Kies

I am having problems with Samsung. I unfortunately downloaded the recent software update and also the latest Kies (I couldn't back up my phone unless I did the download!) both of which have faults, admitted by the Samsung technical team and also in my emails from Samsung. However, Samsung are insisting that I should send my phone back to them for correcting under the terms of the warranty. I have told them that I need my phone and as it is their error do not feel I should be made to be without a phone.

Can I have some advice on this matter as I feel they they owe me as they have admitted it is their error.

I look forward to some suggestions to help me in this matter. Please do not ask me to catalogue the errors other than I can tell you that I with Kies I am unable to open my contact file to view the details.

No idea what you are asking nor even what model or what update so its guesswork .
Two update paths depending upon model .One OTA two via Kies .
If you dont want to or cannot use either updaters then you are left with finding a Samsung service centre and asking to fix while you wait .Possibly your phone vendor may be able to as an alternative .
Flash the stock rom firmware via Odin is the diy method .

Do OTA updates or use ODIN.
