    I had my car serviced and mot'd last week with vauxhall and I will never take my car back to a vauxhall dealership again:

    1. The staff lack customer service skills;
    2. The 10% discount sounds tempting but vauxhall prices are very high in comparison to independent garages;
    3. I don't see the point of the free health check as a yearly service and mot will highlight any problems;
    4. I had the free mini valet, it certainly was mini. All they did was wash the outside of the car and vacuum the inside (they didn't vacuum the boot). The inside windows were not cleaned and the dashboard was still dusty.

    Save yourself money and use an independent garage, ask friends or family to recommend one.

    Health checks are an up-sell tool, they mark different sections of the car in either red, amber and green,

    Once they have this information, which some dealers, if they mark the red warning box will take pictures in aid of the big up-sell
    If something is marked amber you will probably hear the words

    "Youve only got 3000 miles left on them"
    "They wont last you until the next service"

    Followed by

    "Do you want me to get them done today for you"

    The manufacturer set out time units (0.1 = 6mins) for servicing, normally first services can be from 0.6-0.8 - 1.2-2.2 for major services within the service check sheet (supplied by the manufacturer) is what is covered by the "inhouse" Health check,so term FREE should be used loosely
