Virgin and Sky query

Hi all
Hoping someone can advise on this, I have four months left on my virgin subscription for tv, broadband and phoneline, tried recently phoning to haggle the cost down but no joy, currently am paying around £80-£90 a month for tivo box, additional box and evening and weekends phone plan, been offered a friends and family voucher from a sky employee which is too good an offer to lose out on but its only for the tv package no broadband etc, however and here is the but.. this offer expires at the end of march.
Does anyone know if I could get sky installed and while I ride out the virgin contract? and then either stick with virgin for broadband or move over to sky, when I called virgin before they said I could cut the tv down to freeview channels and just pay for broadband and phoneline and that would be £40 a month so would it be possible to do that but then sky installed? sorry if this is a stupid question but am not too technical when it comes to these things!
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Sky and Virgin are completely separate systems, you can run both side by side if you wish0

Many thanks just wanted to double check before I went ahead0

However if you do run them together then you can't port the number over to Sky.No free lunch, and no free laptop
