    'shelf'- singular; 'shelves' - plural.
    'affect', not 'effect'.
'redicious'? Yes,the 'r' was probably aimed at 'ridiculous' but ended up in Unwordland.

Good god, went into tesco express tonight after a few chocolate bars and discovered that upon walking in that over 3/4 of the confectionery isle was empty!

    How awful.

    How ever will you survive?

Stiff letters to the Tescos board are called for...

I work in retail myself (M&S) part time and know that on a Sunday a store often receives half the delivery it would on a Saturday and just less than it would on a Weekday but this is just redicious and its becoming a regular thing now on a weekend!.

I had the option of 1 cadbury bar, kit kats, mars bar along with a few other chocolate bars and sweets. The shelf was just full of empty spaces and boxes. It was not as if they was short staffed either - with most of the employees doing overtime due to college/school out!!

Its not just the chocolate section, on most nights it is impossible to even get your hands on a 2lt bottle of Diet Coke along with other products!

And to anyone who says 'shop elsewhere' - well its Sunday! there is only Tesco that is open!

Tesco Expresses open until 11pm/12pm for your convenience. If they didn't you wouldn't be moaning! The fact that most customers are happy with their service means that it's worth them being open but I can't help feeling with you it's "damned if they do, damned if they don't [open]"

If you're that reliant on Chocolate to get you through Sunday evening why don't you keep a stock at your house?

Simple solution. wihdraw you custom from that company and tell them why.

Reward someone else with your hard earned cash that gives you the service you want.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

My local co-op is often like this. I don't worry too much, unless it is something I desperately need and have popped out especially for (bread, milk, veg).

To be honest, just like other posters have said, is this your biggest stress out? To not have a varied chocolate selection and to not have a huge bottle of teeth rotting drink? How's about you have a nice apple and a glass of water. Cheaper and better for you ;)

Working part time in retail (M&S) - we are ALWAYS told the importance of having full shelfs = happy customers, great mystery shopper results = happy manager and more £££'s - obviously it seems that tesco cannot handle their distribution or the staff just cannot be bothered to get their shelfs full.

Don't you think Tesco staff know this?? Tesco staff recieve high training too and there bonus in Express depend on mystery shopping. I think the staff at this store must be very frustrated that they can't fill there shelves. Express stores are given an allocation of delivery, which stock is given out dependant on some people in head office. Im sure if you spoke to the staff about this they could pass this on to head office. Things aren't as easy as they might seem, if they haven't got the stock to put out they can't just produce it out of thin air. If you work in retail you should understand this.

Thank you. On a weekend it is virtually impossible to get what you want from Tesco Express. I have assessed the situation and found that this happens at my local Tesco Express and the other express located two miles away. What is the best way to inform Tesco about my frustration? ie by email, letter or in person?

Write a letter to the store manager, they can then take this further. Or fill in a customer suggestion card (ask the checkout staff for one). If you write a letter to the manager they will always get back to you but this also gives the store manager evidence for them to get increased delivery loads which can be difficult to get unless they can prove that it is causing customer disatisfaction.

Exactly, so there's no need to put in much effort as there is no viable alternative.

thats exactly what happens with the co-op here. It's the only "supermarket" in the villiage and there are a lot of older people who don't have transport to get to asda or tesco, so they bump the prices up and half of the time the shelves are empty too. All I can say is thank god for online shopping!

The prices arn't bumped up, they just don't have the buying power of Asda/Tesco.
