When I took CeMAP I failed unit 1 but passed unit 2, I found unit 1 quite hard as taxation and investment stuff was my weakness. So I took CeMAP 2 and 3 and passed them first time and went back to retake unit 1 and then passed.

Roonaldo. How long did it take you to revise for each module? And is mods 2 n 3 as bulky as 1?

  • I did paper 2 and 3 first when 3 was a written one passed both first time with 90% then sat paper 1 which I passed on my 3rd attempt. Employer only allowed 3 attempts.

No, 2 and 3 together are not as bulky as 1
Most people find 2 and 3 quite easy, I passed both first time on the same day. Started in October and passed at the start of July, though I did have a bereavement in the middle which didn't help!
Then I only had til October to pass 1,but just managed. Though had to sit one module twice.
Found 1 much harder as pensions, tax etc not my area.

Did the advanced cemap a couple of years ago which was ok, though second half was sooooo boring (chose compliance aargh)

    Hello
I would say probably a couple of hours at a time, but not necessarily every day. Sometimes just a case of sitting and reading the notes of an evening.
    Days off a bit more.
I was training as an underwriter at the time so found 2 and 3 easier as it related to what I was doing during the day.
I bought some mock exam papers from ifs and did the mock tests at the back of the notes too

Ive decided not to make notes and instead just read the course manual. It feels as if the notes are taking ages to write and going too much.
I will just read d manual and try to just do the mocks and passpapers instead. Hopefully I can just pass like this
