I'm with orange and have unlimited broadband, line rental and eve & weekend calls costing around £28.00 per month, included is £10.00 off pm for having an orange mobile.
In a few months my mobile contract ends and i'm going to switch to 3 sim only, losing my £10.00 pm discount.
I had a look at Plusnet, they'll do unlimited broadband, line rental, eve & weekend calls + 100mins to mobiles any time of the day for £27.49 pm
Does anyone else have this deal...what are they like? my mother recently switched from them as they kept billing her for extras she never had, they did refund but still kept doing it.

Plusnet is fine so far, since January 2014.
I do everything online, not through the call centre, and so far the billing has been correct.
You can change or cancel the calling plan, on a monthly basis.
I tried the £7 Anytime plan, including 300 international minutes.
Cancelled that, and now have £3 for 100 mobile minutes. Works how it's suposed to.0 -
Personal experience -had internet with them for over 5 years, phone line switched ~ three years ago - No complaints with Plusnet -so far, infinitely better than the BT/Horrange combo I had previously, with their Customer Disservices operations in the incomprehensible East!!0

it also says unlimited downloads, i'm having a load of work done to the exterior of the house, been without sky or freeview since December. I'm streeming netflix lovefilm and iplayer etc all day in multiple rooms, probably using 200gb+ per month.
Any issues with downloads being capped? does it have a hidden fair usage policy that i cant see?0 -
If any company is advertising "truly unlimited" as Plusnet are
cannot now impose any limitation on your downloadsTruly unlimited broadband with no monthly usage limit - letting you browse and download around the clock.
Most ISPs who offer unlimited now offer "truly unlimited" with the only major exception to that beuing VM cable who are only allowed to offer "unlimited" as opposed to "truly unlimited" as they start to artificially throttle download and/or upload speeds once a declared threshold is passed.
Plenty of ISPs employ shaping though which is essentially protocol specific throttling for P2P and NNTP downloading. Plusnet use shaping but I've no idea how severe it is as I don't use those protocols.0 -
Have been with them 10 days and so far so good - everything was smooth on the switchover and no problems so far
I have fibre broadband too and its equally as good as BT was at a lot cheaperBetter to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0 -
re download limits on PN unlimited -there are people who routinely post on PN forums who are downloading 100s of GB per month without any restrictions -I download ~ 120GB+ pm as I stream via SkyGo for Sky Sports.0

That's good news.
I have been abusing my BT Infinity 40GB Limited because the usage monitor wasn't working, so they didn't charge me if I go over 40GB. Unfortunately the usage monitor started working last week in February, and I used 33GB in four days because I just started an Amazon Prime LoveFilm free trial. Had to stop using the BT Infinity and used 35GB on Plusnet Unlimited in three days.
Combined with the Netflix free trial in December, I think I have used more GBs in the last four months than the rest of my earlier life!
1200/75 bits per second seemed plenty 30 years ago: faster than I can type.0 -
Thanks guys...i just took the plunge and signed up.
an afterthought, will i keep my phone number? i'd love to hold onto it0 -
You'll keep your number unless you requested otherwise. There is no transfer of network-both Horange and PN run on BT.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Just got off the phone to rententions, they've offered me similar deal with 1000 mins of mobile calls for £30.50 pm
that's 900 more than plusnet are offering for an extra £1.51pm
what i didn't notice was plus net wanted 99p pm for caller display so the monthly cost would have been £28.48
orange are going to give me a call back tomorrow, i'll try to haggle with them on cost...fingers crossed0
