Asda mobile move from vodafone to EE

I have had immense trouble getting my telephone number moved from the Asda Vodafone service to the now ASDA EE service, in fact it was so bad I did not have a usable phone for around 10 days.

I am trying to get some resolution from Asda mobile customer services but I am hitting a wall of terms and conditions. I have now asked them for a Dealock letter as per the Off Com web sites complaints procedures. (They and EE knew about the problems of the service from 10th January and EE had internal memos about it. But their customer service is so bad they have caused me grief and stress, I would like them to at least apologies and compensate me for their error. But there is nothing forthcoming from them. I almost lost a job becuase of my phone did not work, but saved it in the last hour of a particular day when I had to sign a contract.

So I was wondering if there are more people out there with the same problem of this transfer, as it is one I did not request, they were forcing customer to change or loose their number as they were switching providers.

What were your experiences with the switch over?

Thanks

Michael

Suggest you make the title more relevant. People aren't going to open this thread if they think it's just telling them that Asda mobile have moved from Vodafone to EE!

If EE are involved the service will only get worse.

Yes, also had problems changing friends and family to Asda EE.
Given up now moved them to Three (321 PAYG) or Sainsburys(Vodaphone).
Sainsburys coverage same as original Asda, Three needs compatible phone and coverage outwith main areas a bit more patchy.

What are you looking for? Apology? Compensation? The bottom line is incompetence is allowed, and like insurance I chose who provides my service, I'll not be manipulated by third parties to change.

    Agree with :)
What happens if you push this button?
  • Loyal Asda mobile customer so made move 1 month ago - BIG MISTAKE. My phone which is personal and business has not worked properly for the last month - internet problems, unlocking content problems, no incoming texts post port from Vodaphone problems and after 1 month and 22 phone calls to Asda, they today tell me "it's not Asda, it's my handset" and so my problem!!!! Rubbish. I went to EE store and they advised me to call Asda! Enough.

I will now write to Andy Clarke (CEO Asda) and let him know what happened and ask him to intervene. Asda will not gain market share based on their service offering. Hopefully the loss of '000's of customers to other networks will make them think about customers as well as p&l and market share next time a big change is put on the table.

ASDA showed me no loyalty so I've just ditched them & gone over to Three. Rang for a PAC code & got into quite heated debate withe the guy who would not accept this move to EE had been a shambles. Kept telling me I should not believe what is said in the media! Talk about blinkered. And just to put two fingers up to Wal-Mart I texted most of my remaining credit to charity then phoned a friend & stayed on the call until credit ran out.

Just an update for you. I had a 20 minute conversation with ASDA EE mobile last night and they were apologising for the way they handles my complain. I think it was I asked for a Deadlock ledtter that prompted their reply.

They were short staff with only 22 call handlers for 6000 plus calls in one weekend, they were under trained and under resourced for the switch over - they admitted that to me.

They have now offered me some ASDA vouchers and I am happy wioth that as they are quite substantial, e.g more than £25. I should get them sometime next week all going well.

Howver due to the fiasco they have done with me etc, I am thinking of moving carrier, to three or back to Vodafone, but I need to look at the deal that are out there before I decide to switch again.

Thanks for your comments as it confirmed that I was not the only one who had massive problems with this simple switch over,
