Check your insurance certificate. Mine also covers me for Any motor car which is loaned or hired to the Policyholder................by a member of the Motor Trade while the vehicle specified above is in the custody of the Motor Trader for service, repair or MOT.

This is Hastings Direct (never Insure with them!!)
Driving Other Cars: If under persons of classes of persons entitled to drive you are permitted to drive other cars, cover for that car is Third party only. Damage to it is not covered

yep mine says that too but the above isn't under that section, it's under Registration mark of vehicle: and I actually asked the company last year when I needed a courtesy car, they told me cover under that section was the same level as my own i.e. fully comp. It must be worth an ask :)

  • Nope. no warning lights at all.

The S-type has 1 button for mirrors and rear windscreen. press that, light on the button comes on...thats it.

Sorry my fault should of used the word indicator light instead of warning light, if there is a light coming on then go with what AdrianC says

If you need to take it to a mechanic, try Charles Stuart Autos. They're based near Hillingdon Hospital, so not too far from you.
There's a car dealer of the same name just opposite the road, so make sure you get the right place :).

My family have gone to this place for years, and they're brilliant. Afraid there's usually a bit of a wait as they're quite popular, but they won't rip you off.

thanks for the tip. Gave them a call. Unfortunately they dont repair electrics :(

Had a look at the fuses last night. All A OK. Which is not what i was hoping for really.
Cant even use the multi meter to check the contacts coz they are hidden under the panels. And thats something i dont want to open coz 1 i dont know how to and 2 if i do....tgeres a fear of not closing it properly.

its looking more and more like i will have to stick with car giant and their repair offer.

The panels are held in by plastic clips, if you use a knife or screwdriver to carefully prise them off at various points they will come away nicely and you'll be able to easily pop them back again after checking the contacts. This is all a garage will do so you might as well save a few quid by doing it yourself.
