Claim Form for Northampton County Court for Civil Enforcement Limited

My car (I am the registered keeper) was parked in a supermarket car park in March 2012.

The driver read the signage at the time to indicate that parking was free for those using the shop, parked the car for about 1.5 hours, did some shopping (including in the shop which owned the car park) and left.

Some time later, I (as registered keeper) started to receive letters from CEL, which I ignored. The most recent was a re-assignment of debt letter.

This morning I received a Claim Form from Northampton County Court, seeking "damages arising from breach of contract".

I have no intention of paying this charge, and would appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

it the blue NEW THREAD button on the top left of the forum near the green banner

this way you will get help of your own (even if the details seem similar at first glance)

looks like CEL are doing a "parking eye" at the moment too

We need to embarrass the Co-op CEO about this.

  • On behalf of a friend she received a ticket to say she had been illegally parked in whitby. I phoned the company in liverpool who said they have cctv footage of the car leaving 13 minutes after the free 1 hour had expired.
All they wanted to know who was driving, so they could send the bill to them!
Now she's got a court summons for Northampton for "breach of contract" What contract? Written? Verbally?

A whitby car park, a liverpool company, and a northampton court!
    Sounds dodgy...

    Ignore it i say!

If There is someone posting PM's id appreciate one on this matter

Never ignore county court claims, unless you want a default judgement and CCJ on file. Now create your own thread please, one issue to one thread!
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

this person would be a fool to ignore a MCOL from the northampton bulk centre , as a default CCJ could result

only a fool would ignore it

I suggest you start your own thread using the blue NEW THREAD button near the green banner , top left of the main parking forum and get the correct help required as there are lots of these court claims at the moment by CEL over co-op car parks and whilst the private car parking issues are dodgy, the PPC and the northampton court definitely arent "dodgy"

    so defend or lose !

so start your own thread, ie:- one person and one topic , one thread , no hijacks
